Prince.

Just ask Scottie Pippen.
Kobe's favorite player talks about Kobe
"I think he does what he has to do," San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili said. "Of course, there's a difference between 35 and 25 shots, but he's got that ability to make every shot. Even if it's in front of two guys he jumps so high on fadeaways it doesn't matter. He's got so many resources, it's easy for him to take 35 shots. If I was his teammate, I wouldn't care."

Ben is the least talented starting 5 player.

Rasheed is by far the most talented but doesn't want to be "the man", then goes Billups, Prince and Hamilton.

As far as gameplay goes, the production department should see Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Ben & Rasheed and now you have to evaluate whose production is most important. Bens production may be 4th best on the team but his production value is either 1 or 2. Rasheed has a low output but his defensive presence is excellent, and the offense flows when they capatilize his perimeter game....and on and on.

Rasheed was that final piece that Detroit needed when they traded for him and I remember when they originally got him I instantly thought that they would be a monster defensively because of the balance throughout. The only reason I give Chauncey the nod is because he works well in the system and is also the most effective of the bunch at creating his own offensive opportunities. Final MVP doesnt hurt either.

i gotta say ben

being defensively talented is a rarity in the league now a days and offensively talented players are a dime a dozen. Not to take anything away from rest of them cause they all get down on both ends of the floor but ben is just a beast

Prince is a good defender, but I think he's overrated at times. Hopefully all that money they throw at him won't go to waste.

I can't believe Rip only has 3 votes. I think Rip is definitley number 1 on the Pistons, so much of their offense runs through him, he's the number one option in crunch time, and he's the new Reggie Miller. If only we had picked him instead of Bender... :x

detroit plays "team" ball, each player from that starting 5 is a vital cog. to say one is significantly most important/is easily the best is a paradox

I think that's the real reason why you picked Rip. Not because he's the number one option in crunch time, and the offense runs blah blah ;)

Their's no question it's Billups, the guy is an All-Star this year, and even an MVP candidate. Since he got released from the LB grasp, he's looked like his former playmaking self, and has gained experience on team play while playing with Brown.

He's just as good a scorer as Rip if he wants to be, is the teams best shooter, passer, and penetrator, also good defensively [with the help of his big's], and a good post up PG. Great 2 way PG.

I think Billups D is kind of overlooked with the Wallace's and Prince around.

He plays some real solid D in comparison to other guys. He's up on his man and he gets physical whereas some guys stand back and let their man have space. That's why he made it to the 2nd All Def team last season.

even though it took him 3 tries.

indeed it did, however he still attempted the 3rd after missing his first 2. No confidence lost there (Y)

Big Ben is a terrific helf defender, but I do believe Chauncey is the best 1-on-1 defender (along with 'Sheed). And like you said, he's the best on offense. He has the most range, is the best 3pt and FT shooter, best penetrator and can also can post up his man.

Big Ben has dropped off a little, I've been talking to some Pistons fans who said they've noticed it. While he's still good, the age factor is catching up to him. Even last season, you could see that his shot blocking dropped a little.

whilst he won't be getting 15rpg anytime soon, he's still doing what he used to. This season he was kind of slowed down with a foot injury (after which Detroit got outrebounded 8 straight games) but recently he's been getting good numbers.

His shot blocking isn't that much of a worry, he still get's those. One thing that can be attributed to low numbers is good team defense. Bad team defense is the reason Alonzo Mourning was able to block 4bpg.

Having said that, he has slowed down a bit, but he's a warrior and the key to the Pistons defense.

along with 'Sheed

i love Sheed, he's great, but damnit put those hands up to contest a shot.
