How? He got picked #1 and definately was the best HS-er in 2004.
I believe they also said he had to become ROY, so they were wrong after all. But he succeeded in what you listed..

My bad, I thought he was picked behind Okafor for some odd reason. He is a very good player, but I wonder how many more predictions these fundamentalists will make before they realize they're crazy.

Agreed, they seem to come down a lot more in high school and college. I remember reading that Karl Malone broke a backboard during his high school career.

High-school nets don't have the shocks-support the NBA has. Plus the NBA probably has higher quality glass.

No. Definately not.

I remember when in NBA Jam the video game where you could break the backboard after a lot of hard dunks. Came out around the time it was still happening in games back in the 90s I guess.

He didn't break the backboard. He strained the rim someway

i love how the commentators try to analyse the dunk, and then say so matter-of-factly that they will need to replace the backboard

Dawkins' first board-shattering dunk looks great in slow motion though as it completely shattered and the shards showered to the floor. The shot from the baseline is the best, with the board intact one moment, turning translucent as it starts to break then completely shattering.

Chocolate Thunder from Lovetron, brother! And he had names for every dunk.

That's true. Chuck "The Rifleman" Connors was the first to break the backboard but it wasn't with a dunk.
