LeBron lit it up!

Postby ShAuN on Sun Dec 11, 2005 2:38 pm

LeBron had 52 points tonight in a loss to the Bucks, 111-106. Bron almost had half there points. He had 7 rebounds and 7 assists, he shot 19-29 (65%) from the field. 5-9 from the 3pt line, and 9-10 at the line! Its only his 3rd year too. Hes a great athlete.

Bogut said after the game that LeBron dominating the ball so much actually hurt his team, since when he needed his teammates to come up with big shots down the stretch they were cold since they were never allowed to get into any sort of rhythm.

I think I'd be more inclined to blame his teammates though, it's not as if LeBron is the first guy in the NBA to dominate the ball. They don't all lose.

Yea I agree. I mean how can getting 7 assists with 52 points really hurt the team? He shot 65% from the field. If he took 10 shots away and passed instead of shot, more than less they probally wouldnt have hit the shot. Maybe he missed some wide open people a few times, but idk. I understand what Bogut is saying though.

Thats what I was thinkin. I think hes too caught up in himself. I think he really only cares about his stats. He wants to be better than MJ. I mean Im just thinking. He does piss me off at times though, when he either gets called for a fould then he looks like hes gonna  or when he hits a layup and draws a foul and pounds his chest. I hate when people do that

I don't know about that, that's the impression I sometimes get of Kobe but not necessarily LeBron.

Larry hughes only scored 9 points on 2-8 shooting. He needs to get going since he was the major acquisition in the off season to push the cavs ahead

If Kobe Bryant shot the ball 29 times, scored 52 points and his team lost people would be chewing him out for taking so many shots in a losing effort. But since it is Lebron everyone is on is jock.

I'm not saying it's OK if LeBron does it, just that in my opinion Kobe does so more frequently.

Kobe is cocky and Lebron isn't? Lebron does basically the same stuff Kobe does on the floor. The only difference is Kobe doesn't have a giant tattoo of the "Chosen 1" on his back.

reminds me of when lebron got 56 on the raptors and the cavs still lost. i guess the way to beat the cavs is to let lebron have as much shots as he wants

kobe averages 27 shots a game
lebron averages 21
thats why so many hate on kobe, he takes way more shots on a normal day than lebron and barely averages more ppg than lebron.

But the only thing is, LeBron hits a better % of those shots.

Yea wtf is up with him?? Hughes, Arenas and Jamison were he leagues highest scoring trio last year. I mean poitns arent everything. Heres last years stats compared to this years:

YEAR MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
04-05-38.7-.430-.282-.777-1.2-5.0--6.3--4.7-2.89-.30 2.51 2.80 22.0

YEAR MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
05-06 37.8 .393 .421 .802--.8 -3.8 -4.6 --3.9 1.44 .56 2.67 3.40 17.3

There not really bad numbers, but there not Larry Hughes Numbers.

Hes shooting 4& worse this year, which could mean 2-8 more ppg. His 3pt% drastically improved which is good. FT% also improved a bit, RPG improved a bit, ASP dropped a bit which is wierd since he has LeBron, and Z. Even SPG went down, and his Defense is really good, hats one of the reasons the Cavs got him. Barly gets put TOPG this year, and hes averaging 5ppg less this year.

IMO, hes very dissapointing this year. Him and Arenas were really fun to watch. I would have imagend him and Bron would be VERY excitig to watch, but no. Hopefully he comes around sometime soon.

all the hypocrisy.... i hate the lbj of the present... what happened to the magic comparisons? y are he and kobe being like mj of the 80's(tossing in points in a loss)?
now we have lebron making headlines for dropping 40/50pts. if kobe did the same as lebron i'd surely believe that we'd have half of this forum ripping him for not getting his teamates involved... but now we have lebron doing this and ppl are defending him

hmm.... maybe because they have the skillset... and neither one of them compares to oj mayo on cockiness... fuck that little piece of bullshit....

Its the same thing wiht Pierce. Last year anyways, everytime Pierce dropped 30pts or more, they lossed it seemd like. This year he can drop 50 or have 2 points, they cant win

That's coz Lebron has always been a better teaammate than Kobe and is by far a better playmaker.

im a big lbj fan and all, but he is alot different this year, like last year i dont think he would have ever done the "hand on fire" thing that he did when he shot the 3 3 pointers in a row that one game..... he seems alot more cocky than last year, i liked how he was humble and never bragged or blamed anyone for a loss..... also i dont like how hes becoming more of a scorer than an all round great player, his ppg is up, but his rpg and apg are 2 or 3 less than last year, and with better players, u would definatley think at least his assists would be up

yes LeBron has changed into more of a selfish player. I think he should get his teammates going first and then work himself into the game.

He hurt his team. Talk about some shitty defense giving up 111 points to the Bucks.

I have to agree with what Charles Barkley said about them. They're just a nice little offensive team that can't play defense at all. They won't make it to the eastern conference finals.
