EA created rookies suck

Postby Matt on Sun Dec 04, 2005 7:53 pm

I have 3 lottery pick SG's on my team (after accepting the Bucks franchise) and they are 6'1, 6'2, 6'3.

That not being bad enough, they all have speeds of 50-60....which is slower that Darko Milicic :x The extra shitty thing is that 2 of those guys are the best shooters in the L but they can't create their own shots, and get blocked.

EA's other problem is that it creates too many 6'8 220lbs C's.

One more note on player development, things such as "stamina" should significantly increase with little training as they naturally go up in the NBA.

I remember I simmed my Nuggets dynasty for fun, and there was a 6'8 SF who had 90 in FG and 3pt ratings. His dribbling was like 26 so he couldn't even move two centimeters without having the ball being stolen.

Then I had this 7'2 center with ballhandling skills that rivaled Iverson....

I agree, I always draft the biggest C's that are on the draft, just because they are rare. I don't care if they are in the 2nd round, I hate undersized players in Live :x Specially those 6'1 SG's.

Yeah the rookies have been weird for years, ever since they added the option. The amount of really slow unathletic SFs that come through is a joke. I usually find that a PG is the safest pick, they usually turn out OK.

The best guy I ever saw drafted was in live 2000. My brother drafted him in our joint dynasty (we simmed the first season and did badly on purpose so we could draft in the lottery). He was called Jonah Scott, and he was a 6'11'' SF who had everything: dribbling, shooting, speed, dunking. He was the highest rated player overall in the league. Then after the first season, his ratings shot down. They kept getting worse. He went from league MVP to a bench player in 3 seasons. My brother got madder and madder. Then his rookie deal ended, and he didn't even get a contract, not from everyone. It was hilarious. To top it all, after 5 seasons I think, he retired. Me and my bro still joke about Jonah Scott. Man, that guy must have been hitting the heroin hard

get C. Iwannaka in your first season with the 2nd pick (Y)

90+def rebound, 75+ block and dunk
67 overall and is 7'4"! (good potential too)

yeh it seems that any ea rookie happens to be weird in some sort. also they have weird names like jethro badu.

i try to replace as many of them possible in my dynasties with real players that arent screwed up in height or ratings.

if i am not very big mistaking - rookies are randomly created each season you play so this advice is pointless.

Yeh, From what I gathered...they are pretty much randomly created.

but from this negatively...hey look, at least they look a heck a lot better than 2004 Genomes!

is it still like 2005 though? there are very specific draft classes? ie. i remember there was some guy that everyone found was a great draft pick, dejaun toure or something, like some people got him in their first draft class, some got him in a draft class a few years after. so are the draft classes still already preplanned?

Happened to me, too. Some players are random, some aren't. Like that chinese guy, for example: Whathisname Vuu - 7'4 center.

Ha, and when a few of us were whinging and complaining about the fact that there were 6'1 SG's in the 2006 screenshots, certain people *cough*metsis*cough* said it was normal and that it wouldn't be an issue in the game.

i was going to do it each year on my dynasty, get the exact ratings of each player the year after the draft so i know who to pick, and also who to get in the FA, but i just could be fucked lol
