Just no way in hell that you can compare playing Center in the Finals to playing against a soft ass big man who only shot 7-8 times in 20 something minutes
I appreciate your opinion though, just conversation

If he can hit a hookshot over Shaq in the NBA Finals at the buzzer, then he's definitely godlike

He must work on his shooting ability, then he would start being a threat.

Diaw has that enigmatic something that has kept my eyes on the look out for him...

I've watched his stats in Atlanta and now in Phoenix. I've always seen a tremendous upside to him and a great all-around player... It was pretty obvious that the Hawks didn't utilise his ability all that well as he was buried on the bench.

He's got the height and the athletics down... I've never seen him play though, so I gather that his offensive game isn't quite typical for an NBA player. Which is GREAT! I think he would and could compliment any super star in the league... If he can draw defenders and pass well from that situation, there's ever so much more room for other players to make their moves.

And what comes to D'Antoni... He has really went on a limb with this Phoenix team and it has worked like a miracle since. He went for the smallball last season and Amare absolutely exploded... Diaw is set for the starting center job... This would never happen with anyone else making the calls... Coach D'Antoni is pulling one rabbit out of the hat after the last one, can't wait to see what he does next!

hmmm...pointless comparison, comparing some Frenchie that can't do a lot to a legend is rediculous.

Check the sig, I started it. Diaw for MIP.

Alright, it seems as though this is a polarizing topic. He obviously isn't near any kind of Magic level, but he is still playing very well.

He basically prevented Yao Ming from touching the ball, and he gives up 7-8 inches to him. He's run the break well and is getting a lot of hustle plays. His passing has been good (especially the last few games.)

He still has an inconsistent shot, and does pass off in situations where taking it to the hoop strong is a better option. Something about him still hints at some inconsistency down the road.

Basically, he's playing like a great 3rd or 4th option. But not like a great top 3-4 player all time.

Skill-wise Magic and Diaw are very far apart, and I doubt Diaw will evel reach Magic's level, but Diaw is a very versatile talent and can play nearly every position. He can pass, he's athletic, a solid rebounder and is still fairly young. While the comparison might be far fetched in terms of their skill, Diaw's raw versatility is very comparable to Magic Johnson's.

Good to see Diaw playing so well after falling out favour in Atlanta. The Magic comparison is a lofty one, since Magic is hardly the only example of an all-around player and he was much more than that, but Diaw is certainly one of those good role players that manages to fly under the radar.

Boris Diaw is really playing well right now. But for what, 15 games? Pippen was one of the most versatile players in the league for years. Diaw can't compare to him.

Diaw's been my favourite Hawk since his rookie days, now he's my favourite Sun.

No doubt that Diaw's been playing exceptionally well so far this season, we just have to hope he can keep this up.

The comparison to Magic was just in style, not in actual ability. The writer even mentions that it's not an actual comparison. That'd be ridiculous. Especially when one guy's one of the top players in the history of the game and the other guy a relative unknown.

And he's played Center succesfully. Not just for 20 seconds.

Thank you so much . Some people just saw 'Diaw' and 'Magic' in the same sentence and just took the whole thing out of the context.

Scoring is overrated. As mr. round mound of the rebound said "anybody can jack up 30 shots and score 20 points". Plus if you make 6 assists, you are effectively making 12+ points (it can be a 3...) since basketball is a team game. Congrats to diaw.
Bored.

Diaw is one of my favorite players to watch. I remember the first time he was put into the game while I was watching the Suns. Didn't recognize him, but I just was thinking, "who keeps making all those sweet passes?" He knows exactly what to do with the ball in his hands, but won't (and probably can't) shoot.

He's the Anti-Kobe.

Oh, and Diaw's stats per 48?

Last night, Diaw started at a forward slot... Got himself 8 points, 8 boards and 13 assists... Even a steal and three blocks to boot those...

Is this really a player you want to get rid off??? Especially when players like Marbury etc. are considered "point guards"... In this day and age, Diaw would be a very good fit for any team... He has some moves to put the ball through the hoop, but that's not his inclination... I think he thrives in the third/fourth string role of which Joe Johnson was so desperate to get out of...

JJ really dropped the ball last summer, but it's all good for Diaw that he did! D'Antoni is looking like a genious... He could be heading for another coach of the year award if Amare can't produce like he did at once and they still win a whole bunch of games...

Last night, Diaw and Nash combined for 25 assists... If they can keep this up to atleast some level, like getting 18-20 a night, Phoenix will be rolling again... They're doing it again and they don't even have Amare...
