I think he's more frustrated than pissed off. Garnett didn't really point fingers or anything, so that's good.

I'm just loving the fact that the Grizzlies have all this cap saved up so we can make a run at KG.

KG was just saying that the Wolves shouldn't have made the Sprewell and Cassel talks so public and that the Wolves shouldn't put the blame soley on one thing.
He also mentioned a few things about McHale and how they should have "finished their negotiations" during the off-season.

I said on the right hand side "Garnett Exclusive" since their slide show doesn't stay the same for the whole day. The right hand box... "Thu: Garnett Exclusive" under TNT overtime.
For those who don't think he's pissed, then I don't know what to say.

It looked like he was subtly blaming McHale for this. I mean, he said he thought McHale really wanted to coach but didn't want to take on the responsbility. He also mentioned management, Flip would have still been here if it was handled properly, etc. He won't point fingers directly, because c'mon, this is KG.

He was upset, not in a very animated way but clearly he has issues about last season and apparently has some issue with McHale. Could this be signs of things to come for this player and this franchise in terms of their relationship's longevity?
Fri Nov 18, 2005 12:37 pm
I doubt he gets traded still. If anything, McHale might be the one out.
Fri Nov 18, 2005 12:54 pm
He's frustrated about losing his mentor and friend in Flip and he's frustrated that he lost his friends Cassell and Sprewell. He's frustarted that they didn't make the playoffs. Basically what he is saying is last year a lot of things went wrong and instead of the MEDIA, FANS AND MANAGEMENT blaming soley Cassell and Sprewell they should blame everyone.
Will he demand a trade? I won't believe it until I see it. He's been so loyal to the state for 10 years. Just a few weeks ago he said he was proud of be in Minnesota and he's happy that he has "adopted Minnesota" and that Minnesotans are his "soldiers".
Kevin McHale took over because he felt he could fix what was wrong. It wasn't a very smart move but I think the team played better under him. Mostly because they probably felt a little pressured and responsible for Flip losing his job. But Kevin Garnett is probably thinking twice about coming back here but hell, he ain't going to leave unless it gets BAD. He has said numerous times that he likes the new team and he likes Dwane Casey. I don't think he will be traded anytime soon, but that is just me.
Plus, I have the feeling Cheryl Miller asked him about last season and he gave his answer. I don't think any of these feelings were really directed at anyone for this season. All those comments were related and directed towards last year and last off-season. If he starts talking bad about the current team and starting to doubt their abilities, I'd be a little more nervous. But hell, everyone was frustrated by last season and Garnett was just asked about it. I mean, we thought Garnett would demand a trade after the first round exits but he didn't, he signed an extension. We thought Garnett would demand a trade after the all-star interview where he cried, but he didn't. And now we think he'll demand a trade now, but if history repeats itself he won't.

i'll drink the kool aid too- the bulls can make a run at ben wallace and now Kevn Garnett
Fri Nov 18, 2005 5:20 pm
The Lakers are also planning to make a run on Yao and Amare... oh wait
Fri Nov 18, 2005 10:47 pm
Can't believe some of you actually think their team can get KG, some were joking I know. But Garnett is not the kind of guy that will go for the biggest contract offered, since he already has more money than he can count.
Plus, we all know he is going to New York with their MLE.
Fri Nov 18, 2005 10:49 pm
They should trade Jerome James for KG straight up, the contracts would pretty much match
That was sarcasm for those of you not familiar with it

omg jae are you serious garnett is worth way more than jerome james maybe their contracts are of the same value but trades are usually based on even skill levels too i thought youd know since youve been here for quite some time now i cant believe you actually wrote this you have got to be kidding right
Fri Nov 18, 2005 11:28 pm
I also did some extra research, turns out KG is rated like 98 in Live while Jerome James is only like 57 or sth. Can't believe I even thought it would work.
Fri Nov 18, 2005 11:35 pm
I hope he gets traded. But where? If Minny decides that it's time for rebuilding, they won't trade him for expiring contracts or role players with bloated ones (bye, bye, Lakers). They need fresh blood for him. Fresh blood from East, that is. So, who are the candidates? Chicago? They would have to send everything they got and that would make Chicago a desirable place to be for KG. My favourite is New Jersey. It's still in NY (big market), plus they have all the pieces to make the trade work. NJ would send Jefferson (a 6'8'' swingman, who showed last year that he isn't as overrated as some are saying he is) and Krstic (All-Star potential) for KG. They would have a lineup of Collins, KG, VC, Antoine Wright (?) and Jason Kidd and couple of decent players coming off the bench (McInnis, Marc Jackson, Planinic,...). If that isn't championship caliber team, I don't know what is.
