Vote and tell me who you think is gonna win and why. Now thats not very hard, just make a case for your defensive superstar.

kirilenko if hes healthy. Kirilenko lets the defender get ahead of him on purpose and then blocks him!!!! Coach Sloan is not happy about it

i swear someone said the exact thing last year....

don't think Zo is gonna win it, he'll have to play behind Shaq soon enough. Put Camby instead.

I say Kirilenko, Big Ben, or Iguodala, if you watch Sixers games, you know how his defense is. He will definately(sp?) be in the top 5 in voting this year.

Artest may win it, but if Kirilenko can stay healthy, everybody's going to be writing about him.

I'd say Kirilenko will win it based on his stats, but Ben Wallace has a real good shot if Detroit's PPGA is in the 85-88 range.

watching great defensive players play defense is interesting.. i was watching artest defend wade yesterday (and he did a pretty fucking good job of it) and the way he goes about it is pretty different compared to bruce bowen. artest has a wide stance and stays pretty low.. it was weird though, because he bothered wade so much but it didn't look like he exerted much effort when playing D. in comparison to bowen, bowen tends to glue himself to the other player like velcro.. his speed is pretty deceptive, he looks slow but he can chase you around like no tomorrow. don't know where im going with this, but i just felt like i had to share.

btw, i'm going with ron ron baby.

Kirilenko is my pick at the rate he is blocking shots. I'd like someone like Marcus Camby to win it though.

I doubt he'll get the award, but AK-47.

The voting is done by the head coaches, so there's going to be a heavy bias towards star players.

My guess is that coaches will vote for Duncan for MVP, and will be a tired of voting for Ben Wallace again so it will go to KG this year. He was 2nd runner up to Big Ben last year in DPOY votes, and i assume Minny will do better as a team this year.

A lot of fans don't consider Garnett a DPOY canidate, even though he alters more shots in a single season than anyone else in the league.

People don't think he's a GREAT defender because he doesn't get the blocks. Which is why I hate it that they even keep defensive stats.

since nobody is playing the reigning DPOY ben wallace

Wallace will get Dpoy, while pistons will hold most teams below they average.

I forgot about him, Camby is playing sensational ball. If he can keep this up for the entire season, injury-free, I can see him in the top 5 vote getter, behind Kirilenko and Artest.
