Are you guys crazy or what, Michael Redd is not going to average 30+ points per night unless he turns into Allen Iverson but unlike AI he has teammates to share the scoring load with. If your going to take a couple of games into context on who'll be the MVP then right now Sam Cassell is the MVP hands down, 35-11-5-2-1 suck on that Mr.Redd.

Redd will not average 30ppg. The 71 points he's scored is nice but he'd struggle to reach 45 against SAS and Detroit back to back. Let's wait until he faces Kobe again...he'll struggle to get to 10.

was he being guarded by AI2 or korver vs philly? coz if it was AI2... then i doubt kobe could do much more =p

Redd won't score 30+points like AI. Redd has teamates too, but because of that he gets a 1-1 covrage which he can score on easily. Those of you who thinks he will only score 10 points with Kobe on him he will score around 20 ,and even if he only scores 10 when Kobe guards him the Bucks only play the Lackers a few times and that isn't enough to lower his season avrage.

if i recall correctly, Redd scored 6 & 8 points against the Lakers last season...SHUT DOWN by Kobe.

Man, that's terrible logic. Redd will struggle some games, and it won't be a result from "terrific defence from the Lakers". Remember when Ronald Murray was such an amazing player at the beginning of the 2003-2004 season and dropping 20 points on everyone, but then his numbers slowly began to drop and then Ray Allen came back, which made things even worse for him.

And teams will start to bog down on Redd when they see how much scoring he can do, so don't always expect teams to give him "one on one" coverage.

You do know on how many All-Defensive team Kobe has been on right? And on how many Iggy has? By the way, I do remember some certaine blocked shot by Kobe on Redd last season :cool:

when Kobe actually tries (eg: 4th Q D against T-Mac) he is, in my mind, the best perimeter defender in the L. He actually SHUTS guys down.

AI2 was voted as one of the leagues best 1on1 defender. Some guy said that he would rather have 5 seconds to get past Kapono, than 5minutes for Iggy (probly an overstatement, but for a rookie thats a huge statement).

That doesnt mean Kobe doesnt have the edge on redd, however.

when he tries, mcgrady is the best perimiter defender in this league, then artest, then bowen, then kobe. garnett does well too, but im not sure if he can guard the quicks.

hassell wasnt? anyway, i wasnt able to catch it, but it looks like he did a good job if he did.... until ot. garnett is definetely the most versatile.

Hassell guarded Allen most of the night, but Hassell got into foul trouble so Garnett sometimes was on Allen for a short period of time man to man. Most of the night Garnett was on Lewis.

In overtime Hassell was on Allen until he fouled out then Wally was placed on Allen. Not a smart move.
