isn't that a compression sleeve?

I'm almost sure Dalembert wears one in his right leg.

Isn't a compression sleeve what T-Mac is wearing in this picture? The Kobe picture looks like it goes all the way up.

i agree and if you look around his waist it seems you can barely see it (that lil black strip).

i saw jordan wear the exact same thing kobe is wearing in that picture in a game against the rockets because he bruised his thigh and they called it a compression sleeve as well. i mean if you look at it they pretty much look the same, except one goes up higher than the other. i think kobe's cuts off right at the half way point of the thigh. or a little bit before his groin

T-Mac's is just for fashion purposes, I believe.

How can you see where it ends on Kobe? In the NBA Live picture that is a compression sleeve but the real picture looks like something different.

Actually, I think his is kind of the same case as AI's thing on his arm, where he actually needed it, then played well with it on, or thought it looked cool and kept it.

logically, by looking at the picture that's where it should end. i don't think it's possible for it to end anywhere else.

I just put the nba live picture there cuz i was bored (i put those sleeve thingies on his knees and calf). if you look in the other pic in the first post i was talking about it looks like around his waist (where you see that black strip) is wherei think it ends. but who knows.

I think it looks just about retarded...
Nope, it looks all the way retarded

the stuff t mac and kobe wear are JUST LIKE JORDAN. Jordan also wore a left elbow/forearm band and after he got injured in the 86 he start wearing that thing t mac is wearing on his left leg. EXACTLY like the picture with tmac. everyone wants to be like mike

Found this on the Lakers thread.
Bryant led all scorers with 20 points and played in a pair of leg sleeves to stay warm.
It's in a different game but I assume it's the same thing he's wearing.
That's why it looks like Kobe is wearing a pair of tights in the original pic.

The difference between tmacs compression sleave and kobes is tmacs is for his calf muslce, kobes is for his knee.

those things are just for injuries. lots of AFL players wear them around their hamstrings to prevent hamtring injuries, which is most likely why hes doing it
that, or hes pulling a swoopes

Heaps of professional sports people wear them.......
Benefits of Compression Pants
Moderate body heat and stay dry
Contains fabric with an active moisture management system that pulls moisture through the fabric so it evaporates quicker and you stay cool and dry.
Enhance Performance
Tight fit increases the ability to sense your position, location, orientation and movement of the body and its parts for better performance.
Relief from Chafing and Skin Irritation
4-way stretch fabric that fits like a second layer of skin and moves with your body to reduce friction.

You crazy people...

^^ It started out as a Kobe (is gay) thing, but eventually turned into a discussion about the benefits of compression pants.
Learning is fun Cloudy.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure most players wear those leg bands to help with tendinitis and strained leg muscles, not for fashion.
The arm bands originally had a purpose as well. On the wrist they keep sweat off your hands. Jordan started wearing one on his forearm because he'd use his forearm to wipe sweat off his forehead.
Then the Lakers started wearing them on their biceps...not sure why.
