Wasn't there some allstar game that he played in or is going to play in that would make him ineligable to play at college?? There is some rule that if a highschooler plays in more than 2 allstar games he can't play college ball apparently. :?

Yeah, he's agree to play in Jordan's All-Star game, which will be his third appearance, making him ineligible to play in the NCAA. But as Yohance said (in not so many words ), this is basically just confirmation of what we already knew. There was just too much hype (and too much at stake) for him to change his mind at the last minute, and opt for college.

well thats good and all
but all i care is that Carmelo Anthony is in the draft :D

GO MELO!!!

For a moment, I wondered why Dallas would want Z, but then I remembered Shawn Bradley and Evan Eschmeyer. He'd be a nice addition, provided he can stay healthy.

Mon Apr 28, 2003 3:46 pm

yeah, really nice addition

they can start this team:

C-Shawn Bradley
PF-Zydrunas Ilgaulskus
SF-Dirk
SG-Finley
PG-Nash

 3 7 footers in the starting lineup of a NBA team..............~

They'd probably start Z at centre, LaFrentz at PF and Dirk at SF. A bit shorter, but a more talented frontcourt.

i think that dallas would be looking to off load LaFrentzf , every game ive saw him play (dallas & denver ) he's always in foul trouble and always getting his arse kicked by the coach. IMO i think the mavs, like the knicks want a centre who plays the post. LaFrenzf and Bradley both like the jump shoot in fact the hole team likes the jump shoot and in the games ive seen that the mavs lose its because thats not dropping and they dont have anything else to fall back on. as they say " live by the 3 , die by the 3".
Z would be a great fit for this team, he could give them a inside presents which could get there outside game going + its a big body to play guys like shaq with.

I agree. I also agree with the rest of your post, but I didn't feel it was necessary to quote it all. :)

The experiment with LaFrentz (big man with outside shot to lure other centres ie. Shaq away from the basket, opening up the lane) has not worked out the way the Mavericks anticipated. Their success has come from the performance of their big three, not a diversionary tactic.

That's not say LaFrentz is totally useless, and it would be better to keep him rather than trade him for someone who won't fill the Mavs' needs. If they do trade for Z, I think they should play him at centre and Nowitzki at power forward (or bring in someone else to play PF, with Dirk at SF), with Bradley coming off the bench. I don't think Z or Bradley could match up against the likes of KG and Duncan at PF.
