Ward waved; better off in nfl?

Postby J-Smoove on Fri Oct 14, 2005 1:44 pm

Charlie Ward got waived. serviceable PG (albeit injury prone).

Better question: Do you think he should have gone in the NFL path?

Heisman winners and Nat'l Champs don't come along too often. All I remember was that he was a very efficient QB, and no ego whatsoever (football or basketball).

He had a few good seasons in New York; I'd say he chose the right path. Isn't he supposed to be retiring and taking an assistant coaching position in Houston?

He was a solid point guard who could pass and shoot the three. I had no idea that he was retiring though.

I thought he was an all-state kicker... but maybe that was Darrell Armstrong, I'm not sure. :P

Just because you won the heisman trophy doesn't mean you are are destined for stardom in the NFL. Actually, it usually means the opposite.

Huh?

Anyway Jona to answer your questions Charlie Ward was a QB not a kicker...if you dont know what QB is oh well look it up.

I think he would have made a better career in the NFL though despite the curse of the awards under his belt.
