Knicks, in my opinion, will make the playoffs...but i believe the bulls will have a better record...I reckon they are more Team orientated...and we dont have Marbury (yeah, hes better than Hinrich atm, but Hinrich sets up more for his team)..

My guess is you're only looking at the offensive part of the equation...

I know you NY Knicks fans fall in love with your players and desmiss your ex-players with the same passion, but you must know that, given time, Sweetney will be more productive than the aging Davis, who doesn't feel so hot about being a Knick, anyway.

I would take Chandler over Curry any day of the week, since at least he defends and rebounds like someone with his size and athleticism should, and his offense will come to him.

Hinrich might be less talented than Marbs, but at least he is a winner, and a courageous player.

About the bench, I don't give that much of an edge to the Knicks. Sure they have Houston, Taylor, Jerome James and the rookies. But we know how much Brown trusts his rookies which might be the most talented bench players they have, so...
The Bulls, though, can unleash Nocioni whenever they want, and I don't know of a knicks bench player that can match his intensity (or starter, for that matter). Besides, they have Songaila, which is a very nice role player, Harrington, the steady Duhon and depending on who starts at SF, Deng or Tim Thomas (the new and improved ass-kicked version, thanks to Skiles). This makes up for a solid, albeit not spectacular, bench.

Well we can keep going at it by using the right arguments to justify our opinions, but let's just look at the W/L columns at the end of the season.

my take:

chander > curry
i give the slight edge to chandler because his offense is more competent then curry's defense

sweetney = whichever PF starts for nyk
davis has already voiced he doesn't want to play for nyk. he's not starting material anyway. i see taylor & rose splitting the minutes. sweetney is more efficient then both players on offense but still has to prove he can be a starter in this league. none of these guys will be mistaken for a defensive stalworth

deng = richardson
if Q would utilize his post up skills more often, he'd have the edge. otherwise his 3pt chucker style makes him equal to deng's developing all around game

gordon = crawford
these 2 may not even be starting... both can be streaky shooters and are not afraid to take the big shot. gordon is more efficient but crawford has much better ballhandling skills. not much defense from either

hinrich < marbury
i think a lot of bulls fans will say hinrich because he is their leader and is a team player. but seriously- marbs is steady as they come offensively, is immensely more talented then hinrich, and shoots a much better then him. hinrich's defense almost makes the matchup even but he's inconsistent in big game situations

as far as bench players- larry brown in the past has gone with a short rotation so i don't know what his plans are for ariza, robinson, etc

skiles isn't afraid to sub out his entire starting lineup. the team has decent depth if AD comes back to the team. until then, they are short at center

i'm not sure what to expect out of nyk now that they have brown as the coach. most of the players don't fit brown's preference. they have a lot of scorers but lack defense and rebounding. they do have the talent to make the playoffs

i think the bulls are a borderline playoff team. it will be a big adjustment for the offense not having curry.

both teams should be in the 40-45 win range. the bulls will win more then

I think that Sweetney is earning is minutes in pre-season. Who do You start over him, Harrington? He's showing a great rebounding prowess in limited time, and, on the subject, I think of him to be better than Mo Taylor and Malik Rose, even though Taylor is a great low post scorer.

i'm not sure who will start at this point but i know they'll all be sharing minutes since chandler is the only C on the roster

harrington may have the inside track since he's familiar with the system and is a better passer then sweetney... doesn't mean though he'll get the bulk of the minutes
