I strongly disagree with that statement. I don't believe Mo is ever a leader on the court. He's constantly out of control and basically just parks himself behind the three point line. You'd think he'd learn to set his feet for his medium range jumpers by now, but noooo.....

I said he was. During that run, he was the guy they looked to carry them offensively. Wow, you should know that, I mean you can question people about their viewing of Raptor games so you must've seen that.

I don't think he's a bad coach in the playoffs but I do believe he is during the regular season.

Well, what about the regular season that year? They wen't from losing T-mac and having a rookie replace him and they still had their best regular season ever. Yes, thats correct. Their best regular season was under....Lenny Wilkins. But that can't be right, he is a terrible coach, especially in the regular season. How disgusting. I mean you poor toronto fans, how could you put up with such terrible coaching. I feel sorry for you guys

Yes, he won one championship. But he has still been able to stick around for all these years on different teams. I dont know this for a fact, but i would be very suprised to learn he didnt take one of his clubs he coached for the the playoffs.

Just to add another perspective to the championship debate, the last time Pat Riley won a title was 1988 (at the helm of one of the best teams in history, no less). But you can't use that against him because of the last couple of seasons in Miami. Mind you, Riley doesn't have a reputation for being too soft on his players.

when he was knick's coach that style worked very well at first but then the players got tired of it and stopped responding.
i think thats what happening in miami , with all these young players coming into the league they think there bigger than the coach, and the team.

NBA Fan 23 I'm tired of arguing an obvious point. You ask almost any Raptor fan and they'll tell you that they're happy he's gone and for the last time how many Raptors games did you watch last season?

Ofcourse, their best record before that was 23-27 (.460), which isn't that impressive.
Also, they aquired Jerome Williams, Keon Clark, Eric Montross and Chris Childs during this season, all of whom were important parts to the team (es even Montross provided some steady minutes at C when he played).
Wilkins deserves credit for the things he did well, and he was a great choice at the time, but this last season just wasn't up to his standards.
The least that was expected out of him was that he'd motivate the players to keep going, especially early in the season when nothing was lost yet and there was still a good chance at making the playoffs.
This didn't happen, and the organisation feels a change was needed. All the best luck to Lenny in his next employment, he brought some good things to the Raptors, the fit was just over.

Riley is not a good coach anymore. He is an old fashioned coach who thinks he needs a big Center to win a championship. That's how he thinks: without Mourning he doesn't get to the Playoffs or win at least 30, that's stupid. A good coach would take anything you put him there to coach and he would do his best, something Riley hasn't been able to do.

I guess he's going to retire once Mourning finally decides to retire. That's cause I believe he can't get fired since he has part of the team ownership shares.

Hey, Tex Winter's a pretty old fashioned coach, even in his Bulls days, but the triangle worked then, and it works now.

A good coach would take anything you put him there to coach and he would do his best, something Riley hasn't been able to do.

What about the impressive run last season, where they at one point looked like getting to the playoffs despite starting something like 5-29? (that figure is probably incorrect, but I know it was fairly lopsided).
