Who do you think will be better in his prime? What are your opinions?

Gordon has more potential to be a special player in my opinion, while I feel Deng is more suited to become a good third or fourth player. So following that logic, I'll say that Gordon will be the superior play in his prime.

Gordon could very well develop into a Gilbert Arenas type of player. He's only problem is that he is being developed as a role player. Because of his size (6'2'' with shoes) he can only play a PG in a normal lineup and he doesn't have enough PG skills (or mentality) to be one. Deng on the other hand has great size for a SF (6'9'' with shoes on - he grew an inch during the summer), decent athleticism and great all-around skills. I predict that he could be a second best player on a championship team. He is limited by his psychical talent, but he'll make a great role player/star in the Shawn Marion mold.

Luol Deng will be the better, more complete player. Ben Gordon is great for a scoring punch off the bench but not much more.

Id have to agree with Riot....BG's sort of a Troy Hudson/Chauncey Billups type while Luol well I think hes going to be real special. He would be flat out the best player from HS in the 03 batch if LeBron wasnt there....I think he'll turn out to be an all-star when he hits his prime. Deng's got a good mentality and a good work ethic....all he's really missing is that extra athletic ability.

I personally like Deng better and Deng is way more well rounded, but Gordon has more potential to become a bigger offensive threat. Ben isn't going to contribute much other than scoring I think.

Luol Deng reminds me a lot of Grant Hill. He might not be as good as Grant when he was in his prime, but you gotta love those versatile 6'8 fowards who can do a bit of everything.

Personally , I'd say Ben Gordon . Only because he is an extremely clutch player , considering hes a rookie and all . I admit he has no PG skills , but the way he comes off the bench and just scores is amazing . Luol Deng is also an excellent player , but down the road Ben is going to be the better player.

if ben gordan could maybe just grow to about 6'4 (hes 6'2 right now right? it isnt out of the ordinary if he grows to 6'4) then id say gordan would become a better player in his prime, but at the moment deng is my choice. However, none of this matters if they stay with the bulls and the rest of the bulls roster including hinrich stays pretty much the same.

i agree somewhat with riot and steve...

deng reminds me more of antoine walker, not grant hill. he's not explosive as grant hill and has more range on his shot then him.

both gordon and deng have great worth ethics- gordon was reported to be doing triple session workouts this past offseason :!:

gordon is a more natural scorer then deng. as long as hinrich remains in chicago, i don't see gordon ever developing into a playmaker. and as long gordon is in chicago, deng won't be the #1 option

depends on your personnel preference i guess. deng to me will develop into a jack of all trades player. gordon already is one of the better scorers in the league and has the skills & worth ethic to expand other facets of his game

He's 6'1 barefoot. It will be a tough job for him to grow two inches considering he's already 22, 23 years old.
