Hopefully they will trade Peja for Artest and both teams will be fine!

Dirkules wrote:Um, I just realised that some rebound ratings are way off, too. For example, Jamal Sampson has a defensive rebound rating of 99, and Jahidi White has an offensive rebound rating of 96! Apparently EA has calculated these ratings (rebounding, steal and block) on per-minute stats, this is the only explanation that makes any sense to me.

I won't post suggestions on these categories as there are just so many mistakes that it would take too much time to write them all down.

yeha im starting to think the EA guys have never really watched an actaul game, there are just soooo many things that need to be fixed. maybe andrew should list off all the ones he is planning on doing and then we pitch in with some things he may have missed? so that it isnt just 30 million pages of suggestions

Hey yo Andrew !!!
Don't forget Arvydas Macijauskas !!!
He's for some reason underrated . I mean , how can his 3pt shooting be 70 when NBA experts call him the 3rd best shooter in the world . So make his shooting better , and definetly speed . His strenght is his speed , so please make him faster . Please .

By the way , here's Sarunas Jasikevicius cyberface that looks more like him . It will also put his photo into the game . Make his passing better . He has to be a playmaker .

Alright, so here is the third installment of my annual list of suggestions on player ratings. ;-) The last two years I found that many of my suggestions were taken on by "Grandmaster" Andrew, which made me proud in a way. *g*

Anyway, these are only recommendations, nothing more. All I did was go through the list of player ratings and take note of those which I didn't like. Of course there are many more ratings which are off, and I in no way want to pretend this list to be complete or perfect. And if someone disagrees with any of my suggestions, please say so. If someone wants to add something, then feel free to do it.

This is no attempt to demand of you (Andrew) to change these ratings, I'm just kindly asking you to take a look at the players I listed and see if you agree with me, hoping this might help you a little while making your next roster update.

As mentioned earlier in ths thread, I left out the block, steal and rebound ratings (for the most part), as there are too many mistakes in them. I also left out the rookies as I haven't seen them play yet.

So here we go:

Boston Celtics
Al Jefferson: Inside Scoring UP slightly
Ricky Davis: 3Pt UP slightly

Charlotte Bobcats
Keith Bogans: FG UP
Brevin Knight: FG UP
Gerald Wallace: FG Up slightly

Chicago Bulls
Ben Gordon: FG and 3PT DOWN
Luol Deng: FG UP
Jannero Pargo: FG and 3Pt DOWN slightly

Cleveland Cavaliers
Drew Gooden: Inside Scoring UP slightly

Dallas Mavericks
Dirk Nowitzki: 3Pt UP slightly, Steal UP slightly, Block UP slightly (1,2 SPG and 1,5 BPG last season)
Jason Terry: 3Pt UP
Josh Howard: FG UP, Off-Rebounds UP, Def-Awarensss UP

Denver Nuggets
Carmelo Anthony: Inside Scoring DOWN, 3Pt DOWN
Voshon Lenard: 3Pt DOWN slightly
Dermarr Johnson: FG DOWN
Andre Miller: FG Up slightly

Detroit Pistons
Rasheed Wallace: Inside Scoring DOWN (91 is just a little too high)
Chauncey Billups: 3Pt UP
Richard Hamilton: FG UP (relies heavily on his mid-range game)
Dale Davis: Inside Scoring DOWN
Lindsey Hunter: FG DOWN
Ben Wallace: Inside Scoring DOWN

Golden State Warriors
Baron Davis: FG DOWN slightly, 3Pt DOWN, Dunk DOWN slightly (not as athletic anymore)
Troy Murphy: 3Pt UP
Derek Fisher: FG DOWN

Houston Rockets
Yao Ming: Fatigue DOWN, Inside Scoring DOWN slightly (scores on jumpers rather than in the paint)
David Wesly: 3Pt UP
Dikembe Mutombo: Inside Scoring DOWN

Indiana Pacers
Jermaine O'Neal: Block UP, Off-Rebounds UP, Jump UP slightly, Range UP (to about 18), Fatigue UP (his range should be increased because he has a great mid-range jumper, and the other ratings are too low because of his injury troubles last season)
Ron Artest: FG UP (very capable scorer)
Jamaal Tinsley: FG UP

LA Clippers
Sam Cassell: FG DOWN
Elton Brand: FG DOWN slightly

LA Lakers
Lamar Odom: FG UP, Inside Scoring UP
Chris Mihm: Inside Scoring UP
Jumaine Jones: 3Pt DOWN

Memphis Grizzlies
Shane Battier: FG and 3Pt UP
Damon Stoudamire: 3Pt DOWN
Pau Gasol: Inside Scoring DOWN slightly

Miami Heat
Dwyane Wade: FG slightly, Dunk slightly
Antoine Walker: FG UP slightly

Milwaukee Bucks
Bobby Simmons: FG and 3Pt UP
Desmond Mason: FG UP
Joe Smith: Block UP slightly, Inside Scoring UP slightly

Minnesota Timberwolves
Wally Szczerbiak: FG UP

New Jersey Nets
Nenad Krstic: FG UP, Range UP, Inside Scoring UP
Jeff McInnis: FG UP, 3Pt DOWN
Vince Carter: FG Up slightly

New Orleans Hornets
J.R. Smith: FG and 3Pt DOWN
Dan Dickau: FG and 3Pt DOWN slightly
PJ Brown: Off-Rebounds UP

New York Knicks
Jamal Crawford: FG DOWN, 3Pt DOWN
Eddy Curry: Block UP slightly, Inside Scoring UP
Quentin Richardson: 3Pt DOWN slightly (slightly only because if it is decreased to under 80 he is not a shooter superstar anymore)

Orlando Magic
Pat Garrity: FG DOWN
Grant Hill: FG UP slightly (relies very much on his mid-range shot)
Jameer Nelson: FG UP

Philadelphia 76ers
Andre Iguodala: FG UP slightly

Phoenix Suns
Amare Stoudemire: Inside Scoring DOWN (doesn't have much moves around the basket as he relies on his athleticism and occasional mid-range jumpers)
Steve Nash: Fatigue DOWN
Walter McCarty: FG and 3Pt DOWN
Leandro Barbosa: FG UP, 3Pt DOWN slightly

Portland Trail Blazers
Richie Frahm: FG and 3Pt DOWN

Sacramento Kings
Mike Bibby: FG UP
Peja Stojakovic: FG UP slightly (shouldn't be worse than Ray Allen or Nowitzki), Steal UP slightly
Brad Miller: FG UP, Steal UP, Block UP, Off-Rebounds UP, Def-Rebounds DOWN, Inside Scoring DOWN

San Antonio Spurs
Michael Finley: 3Pt UP slightly
Nick Van Exel: FG and 3Pt DOWN
Bruce Bowen: 3Pt UP slightly
Tony Parker: FG Up slightly

Seattle Sonics
Rashard Lewis: FG UP slightly

Toronto Raptors
Jalen Rose: FG and 3Pt UP slightly
Matt Bonner: FG and 3Pt UP

Utah Jazz
Matt Harpring: FG UP
Mehmet Okur: FG UP
Carlos Boozer: Inside Scoring UP slightly
Andrei Kirilenko: Speed UP slightly, Inside Scoring DOWN

Wahington Wizards
Gilbert Arenas: FG and 3Pt UP slightly, Fatigue UP
Antawn Jamison: 3Pt UP slightly
Caron Butler: FG and 3Pt UP
Jarvis Hayes: FG and 3Pt UP
Antonio Daniels: FG UP

One things for sure, Tskitshvili's block rating needs to go down from 83 (something in the low 80's anyway) to 30....

Definetely agree with putting Caron Butler's FG rating up, he's actually a very good mid range jump shot shooter

Steve Nash: Fatigue DOWN

Why ?

Yes, at some point.

Thanks for the suggestions, especially Dirkules. (Y) As always I can't promise I'll implement them all or make all the exact changes (ie something close to what you've suggested but not necessarily the exact rating) but that list should come in handy for the initial version, which may not be the most rating-edit heavy update since there's a lot of transactions to make/players to create.

Damien Wilkins has a dunk rating of 60 :-\

Have we ever thought about a thread for each team to discuss the players individually? becuase unless you support or play with a team, you don't tend to play much attention to role players, only the league "stars"

Because he currently has the highest rating of all players in that category at 93, and because he has never averaged more than 34-35 minutes per game in his nine NBA seasons as his minutes have always been monitored closely in order to avoid a late-season breakdown.

Iggy isn't the only one who's Block rating is off, though. Eddie Griffin has an 88, David Harrison an 86, Loren Woods an 88 and Travis Outlaw has an 81, for example. I think that category (as well as Steal and Off- and Def-Rebounding) need to be revised more closely in one of the future roster updates.

I started Nikoloz Tskitishvili with his block rating of 81 or whatever it is, finished the game with 12 blocks

some of the fatigue ratings are pretty messed up as well... well ok, players like podkolzin probably wont play :D but a fatigue rating of 4? marcus banks will probably be 100th (just kidding celtics fans) in the pg rotation in boston but i dont think he deserves a fatigue rating of 7...

I think the first version should not have ratings changed.
Only the rosters updated, the missing players and the original salaries.

All the rest can be modified later.

The first update may not be a ratings heavy update, it'll be mostly transactions. But I'd like to make some corrections, especially any glaring ones.

glaring ones:
offensive rebounds
superstars = too good... lower dunk ability/strength

i think those are the two biggest things

anyone else have others?

Rashad McCants dunk rating is only 15 in the game, but he should be in the 60s at least imo, but he can get up. 34 inch vert and I've seen him at UNC.

I think that the ratings of players from last season shouldn't be changed for the first patch because always those ratings have a reason to be and then with the ratings changed you find some average player producing more that what he actually would do in real life.

However, i also believe rookies can be changed because their ratings are basically based on EA's opinion.

Some of the players that came from overseas should be changed as well, as for example Oberto and Macilgauzkas. Not much but at least a bit.
San Antonio, for example, gave up Devin Brown for Oberto so at least his rating should be around 62.

For the first patch this are the things i believe should be added or changed:
-Some rookies ratings
-Missing players
-Accurate positions
-Current Rosters
-Real Salaries

From my point of view i would rather not see the ratings from players of last season changed for this first patch.

-------------------------------------------------------

I saw Oberto's rating and it is obvious they give a shit about him and sorry for using that language but it is true. He even has 25 in 3-pointer when he almost didn't shoot 3-points last season in Europe, lol.

This ratings would be much more realistics for Oberto:
63- Overall
55- I.Scoring
1- 3-Pointer
48- F.Throw
40- Dunking
70- Inside Scoring
40- O.Rebound
40- Jumping
71- Strength
61- Speed
59- Quickness
49- Passing
41- Dribbling
58- O.Awareness
71- D.Rebound
49- Stealing
51- Blocking
61- D.Awareness
70- Hardiness
48- Stamina

andrw and staff work on it like other years, maybe what u think is cool or whatever but u can do it alone
change in rating is needed too, and if u dont want it for ur favourite team dont dl it

if its invidivual people you guys are so worried about then maybe its better if you just modify the players on your own, just seems like there is so much that needs to be done that we can't focus on players individually, it needs to be more general modifications - at least in the 1st update along with up to date rosters
