Which L.A team is better??

Tue Oct 04, 2005 8:41 pm

Which of the Clippers and the Lakers is the best for this season?
Clipps with Sam,Cuttino,Brand,Corey and Dunleavy or
Lakers with Kobe and Phil
Which of these two L.A team do you think can pull a playoff this season or the highest chance of going to the playoffs?? :headbang:

Lakers. They have the best player in the NBA.

Tue Oct 04, 2005 8:43 pm

On paper LAC, but Lakers will do pretty OK this season....
Lakers defintely has a better chance in my eyes...

I think the clippers might do a little better this year, but only this year. The lakers have a lot of young developing players plus I expect them to get some more players suited to Phil's coaching style either via trades or free agency. SO the clips may sneak a head this year, but the lakers will quickly surpass them again.

Imagine this two L.A team going head to head for the playoffs..Thus,the fans still cheering for the Lakers even though the Clipps supposed to be "home court"..

Tue Oct 04, 2005 9:38 pm

I think that right now, the best team in LA are the Sparks. :!:

its possible to see LA vs. LA in the playoffs, but its also possible that the Clips will finish higher than the Lakeshow, unless Kobe develops into the true player he is...

I assume you mean Kobe Bryant? Nah I saw him play last year. He's not even top 5.

Tue Oct 04, 2005 10:43 pm

No he meant Sasha Vujacic

I think that the Clippers will do better than the Lakers this season. Sure Phil Jackson may be back, but I think It will take time before the Lakers go back to their best.

well, the Clippers are always a good team on paper, but somehow they manage to keep out of the playoffs year in and year out, they are a true losing team. So i don't believe they will get anywhere this season too.

I think the Lakers have better chances if Kwame starts playing like he SHOULD, and don't argue with Kobe. Phil Jackson is also a big reason so the team can make the playoffs.

I believe the Clippers will do a whole lot better than the Lakers this season...

It's gotta be the Lakers. I don't care if the Clipers come out and win 25 straight, they're the Clippers and will blow it one way or another.

i feel sorry for the clippers for this point, when its clippers vs lakers, and its supposedly clippers "home court" theres more lakers fans than anything...hope they prove everyone wrong and beat the lakers this season or if they play each other in the playoffs, i hope the clippers beat them.(please dont kill me, lakers fans  )

Wed Oct 05, 2005 1:43 pm

Wtf..

play eachother in the playoffs? Neither of them will make the playoffs let alone both...rofl

Clippers looks like they have more depth on paper. But they always find a way to fuck it all up.

Wed Oct 05, 2005 4:32 pm

The Lakers are better... Clippers will be alright but the Lakers have a lot of hype and other things on their side... I mean, they got 8 coaches... and they got Jax, Kobe, Lamar... and Kwame had better wake up.

For the Clippers, Elton is always a good guy to have... Corey and Cutinno will provide decent offence but I'm not sure what Sam I am will do...

Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:08 pm

Even though the Clippers finished higher last season, the Lakers did play below expectations and assuming they don't lose any of their key players for long stretches of the season, should finish higher especially under Jax's guidance. But any championship expectations (if anyone truly has them) are somewhat premature, not to mention underestimating the rest of the league...perhaps just wishful thinking.

Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:09 pm

IMO any playoff expectations are premature.

Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:20 pm

Agreed, nothing is guaranteed though the Playoffs are at least a realistic goal. If the Lakers had strong guidance on the sidelines from start to finish and hadn't been bitten by the injury bug, they probably would have been in there as a lower seed.

Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:30 pm

A winning record is the most realistic goal. A playoff berth is achievable. Championhsip is a very long shot.

Thu Oct 06, 2005 12:05 am

IMO both teams will have a winning record. It would be interesting to see both teams make but the West is too deep...So hopefully the Lakers will end up ahead of the Clips and get a low playoff seed.

Now that I think of it, pretty sad... if they'd play their coaches they'd probably win more games.

I feel the Clippers are a better team. Both of them may not even make the playoffs but the Clippers have a way better chance. Quote me on it. Even if Kobe averages 30ppg (which he may) They have no other scoring threats. U are not winning many games by scoring 65-70ppg. The Clippers have a better starting line and bench. Yes the Clippers will find a way to fuck it up (I am a fan so I know this) but the Lakers will not finish above the Clips.

I think the clippers might do a little better this year, but only this year.

What about last year guy?
