as we all know 16th of april will be the end of regular season and mj's career and mj's last game will be against my favourite team.but i yhink philly will let wizards win cause they want to send mj out whit a win! what u think?? will wizards win or sixers??
Sun Apr 13, 2003 5:47 am
i cant see philly just rolling over, i think mj will put on a show.
philadelphia will show there respect in some way, hopefully not like the heat did!
the wizards will win, mj and AI will have big games
Sun Apr 13, 2003 10:34 am
I'll most definitely watch and tape the game. Whether or not I'll cry is undetermined.
Sun Apr 13, 2003 11:44 am
i won't even be watching the game...but...
Wash should win since Philly will surely play without a full lineup...

Philadelphia should not just hand the game to Washington. MJ should be allowed to put on a good performance though - that means, no 20 minute appearance, 5 shot attempts and Kwame Brown given an opportunity to show what he can do. Kwame's had all season to break out - and since it's already way past hitting a game winning shot in Game 6 of the 1998 Finals being the final chapter, let April 16th 2003 be at least a decent ending.

MJ and Wilt are currently tied for first in all-time scoring average (30.1), though technically MJ is still ahead (30.14 to Wilt's 30.08). Since the all-time chart only recognises one decimal place, MJ would have to score at least 44 points in his final game to bring his average up to 30.15 and hence 30.2 for first overall.
Possible? With Michael Jordan, yes. He did score 45 earlier this season. Likely? Even though I'm a Michael Jordan fan, I'm not too optimistic. I say give him the opportunity though.
Tue Apr 15, 2003 2:18 pm
I was actually hoping he'd drop 101 points in philly
Tue Apr 15, 2003 2:26 pm
Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing that happen, but I'm just not that optimistic.

All he needs now instead of bench splinters is some solid consistent time on the court so he has time to develop. How do you expect him to break out with guys like MJ and Stack around. He barely gets a glance at the ball in his sparce minutes. Curry didn't break out sitting on the bench.
Tue Apr 15, 2003 6:27 pm
True. Kwame's averages have increased with the additional 7.4 minutes per game this season. However, I think the last game should be MJ's final show as far as the Wizards' gameplan is concerned.
Tue Apr 15, 2003 6:32 pm
yeh they should get him the ball every time down court, just like the spurs did in david robinson's 73 point game

i do get your point but kwame has been kept out the lineup to make way for Christian Laettner, a guy kwame should be running rings round.
anyway kwame got some solid minutes last night, putting up 12 points and 7 rebounds in 37min.
Tue Apr 15, 2003 6:59 pm
man if that chump needs 37 mins to get 12 points and 7 rebounds he doesn't deserve to start

Hardly numbers for a No.1 draft pick in his second year

what was the point of you quoting what i said

It's usually done in case someone else makes a post while you are still typing.
Tue Apr 15, 2003 10:27 pm
well, i was agreeing with what you said.
if that is ok with you....

I don't think Washington will give all balls to MJ...
I don't even think he will score more than 30 pts....
It's MJ's last game

I'm so sad, but I don't think Philly will give up the first or second place race...

the idea of the sixers giving the game to mj is no better than ricky davis shooting at his own basket

LOL
Man Ricky has been so close though lately.
anyway, i hope Jordan goes out in style and sinks a game winner right in AI's face or something

hehe
anyway, not that jordan will be gone last year, how do you think the Wizards will lineup next year??
im saying Haywood,Brown,Stackhouse,Hughes,Lue
Brown will hopefully show how good he can be! and i with Hughes back in his natural position, his numbers will increase.
I see them trading Stackhouse though, and i dont know about Lue, hes doen quite well starting, he might get the job full time next year.

i agree with that, but if i was going to trade anyone it would be larry Hughes. I dont think he's a good fit with that team.
Brown will hopefully show how good he can be!
who knows, next year Charles Oakley might keep him out the starting lineup
Wed Apr 16, 2003 4:13 am
They should trade Haywood. They already have Jahidi White who is playing better than him (plus with Etan Thomas back next year and a new rookie center). I doubt they'll trade Hughes. He's their secondary PG next to Dixon.
Wed Apr 16, 2003 4:36 am
ya talked about the wizards line up,lets talk about the sixers line up for the next year.i think they wont resign d.c and the line up will be like this : rookie center or some signed playa, thomas, van horn, iverson, snow.
