He wasn't 220lbs last year, he was about 235-240.

For someone KG's height..253 lbs isnt all that much imo. If he had 270+ lbs of muscle..then that would be impressive.

Actually, some people say he is closer to 7'2"-7'3" than he is to 7'1".

At this pictures we can clearly see that KG is a shade taller than Dirk. Dirk is a legit 7 footer (around 6'10 1/2'' or 6'11'' without his shoes on), so we can asume that KG is around 7'1''.

Gaining 13 pounds or something of muscle in one off-season would be difficult to do, but doable, given his age and accessibility to expensive supplements, weights, and trainers. He probably gained a layer of fat in the process, but no worries, he's not going to end up like Shawn Kemp. Think of the time when Kobe bulked up, for example.

kobe lost alot of fat and gained alot of muscle. he was listed at 215 the previous season i think, which is good. but because he plays sg, ppl worried that his added weight would lose his explosive. he showed up pretty muscular and although he lost some explosiveness, it wasnt because of the extra weight (well, maybe a little but not that much) it was because he wanted to lose that "mostly dunker, not shooter" type thing.

kobe wanted to prove that he's not too 1-dimensional and started shootin alot. thats why his fg% is so low as opposed to the earlier seasons. if he were smart like lebron, he'd drive alot (which he does, but he settles for offbalance Js too much) he'd be unstoppable.

then again, with lebron being about 6'8 (reported 6'9 sometimes) and pretty damn naturally ripped, he's got the edge of taking it to his man.

nonetheless, KG is a balla. he was still a beast athletically at the SF/PF position so now he'll just focus on destroyin the PFs and the dumb coaches that put Cs on him not named big ben.

on that 6'13 comment, it was basically sayin: "i'm not a 7 footer! i can still play SF coach!" type thing.

and boy does kobe look short in that picture next to marion. if marion is that claimed 6'7", kobe can't be 6'6 despite reports saying he is closer to 6'7. and tmac's a beast at around 6'9". this is why i quit tryin at bball. if you don got enough height and the athleticticsm to make up for that, you screwed (dont tell boykins that).

Kobe is probably around 6'5'' without his shoes on. I think the rumours of him being 6'7'' started when people noticed that he's a bit taller than MJ. But it isn't true. Plus, T-Mac is 6'8'', not 6'9''. It's just looks that way comparing to Lewis, because he's actualy 6'8'' without his shoes on (although listed at 6'10''). You find a lot of this kind of lies in the NBA. For instance, guy in your sign and avatar is actually exactly 6'7'' barefoot, but listed at 6'9''. It's the same thing with Marvin Williams.

KG is okay with his size before so i dont think bulding him like Shaq-size is really bad for him..KG can play both sf and pf position and that is a good versatile player. If he will balloon for like 13 lbs more, man he can no longer guard Amare and such..
