i think it's a bad idea if wade is going to have to guard billups most of the time. he'll be worn out by the time it's 4th qtr. i believe that's why you saw van gundy start him off on a lesser aggressive player like prince
no disrespect for payton, but i'm cynical on how he fits in, especially in the starting lineup. wade or williams will be doing most of the ball handling and then on many plays, the offense will go through shaq. what's left for payton? and it is suited to his strengths?
i think off the bench is an ideal role for him. payton's best #'s iirc with the lakers came when shaq was out. as a sixth man, as glove pointed out, he'll get his chance to post up reserve guards and be able to run the transition game w/wade when the big guy's out
