They got way too many PFs now....

Chandler (although he might play C with Curry gone soon)
Malik Allen
Othella Harrington
Antonio Davis
and now Songalia

Songaila is a really nice player, IMO. Davis and Harrington are old, so he could come off the bench and back up both PF & C (Y)

Antonio Davis really is more of a Center. I've always thought that.

This is a good signing. I think a trade of something like Curry and AD to the Warriors for Troy Murphy and a draft pick is quite possible.

I don't think Songaila can play center, because of his size (6-8). However, Harrington and Davis has played some center.

The Bulls are loading their frontcourt in case they lost Curry.

Kings have Reef and Kenny right now so not much need for Songaila, good to see the Bulls get him, he'll do a lot of good in there.

songaila will help them on defense. Good pick up...even though they're overcrowded with C's and PF's!

dont they have like over 15 players on their active roster at the moment? same with the pistons, i think theres like 19 people on the roster list on the pistons site, all of them have a number beside them so im pretty sure they are all members of the roster, not sure how their allowed to though.

Also makes changing the rosters a bitch too (since you cant have more than 15 in a team in the game at anytime, even during offseason)

Well, the season hasn't even started yet, so they probably will cut the rest of the players.

I thought Songaila was taller :?

what should the Bulls trade for?
another big man to replace curry, or a shooting guard, so hinrich can go back to the point? that way Gordon can continue to come of the bench.

would LAL be interested in Curry? he would be a good pick up for them imo.

unlikely. murphy's contract is terrible and Paxson prefers to maintain this available cap space for next year so he can overpay some other guy to his liking

They got way too many PFs now....

pretty much what drex said. but harrington is still serviceable, this could be antonio's final year.

good insurance for the frontcourt. part of the reason the bulls lost their series against the wiz because of AD and harrington, who ideally are bench players, were BOTH forced into starter minutes. and a stiff like jared reiner was the 3rd big man lmao

so if curry can't go again, songalia could take the bulk of the mintues at PF, chandler shifts to C, and allen, othella, & AD can split the backup minutes.
Jump.

I feel that Songaila is a really good aquisition, although it isn't really a big free agent signing. Good job by the Bulls for picking him up, Davis and Harrington aren't getting any younger....

I haven't been following him all that closely but I guess I'll have to now. He posted good numbers for the minutes he played last year, he came cheap on a short term contract. Hard not to call it a good move.
