yao ming doesnt dominate, but he can hit a jump hook, that is his specialty
Sun Sep 11, 2005 10:44 am
He'll be dangerous if he gets the ball a bit more. Also he has to play more aggresive and intimanate the opponent.

He has no stamina at all either, when i see him McGrady is pushin the ball and Yao is just chuggin behind.

Who is that fellow guarding Yao??Maybe he has a shot in the NBA.
yea...that dude i tall, that is guarding yao!
I knew he looked familiar. He's actually in my only SLAM magazine (Sept 2004) that I own (used it for one of my design classes), and his name is Jaber Rouzbahani. He's 7'5", 260 lbs. He declared for the draft, but he's still raw. Not sure what his chances of making it to the NBA is so far.

??? Why put Kobe on there?? Kobe did not played impressive last season was becuase Lakers sucked, you cannot expect Kobe play 1 on 5 still average 30/7/7, man...
Just wait and see how Yao breaks out this upcoming season
You meant you can have 17 turnovers in 29 mins against Iran, right?
Sun Sep 11, 2005 1:41 pm
Now if his stamina can hold up, and he can play 36+ MPG he'll be averaging 20-10 and 2+ BPG.
Sun Sep 11, 2005 1:53 pm
He is still no match for the other former #1 overall pick, Michael "Late Bloomer" Olowokandi.
This is the Kandi Man's year.

not much, he's pretty much like Sun Ming Ming only younger and a little more talented. Maybe in a few more years

, he will never be better than Shaq.NEVER
who cares if he is as good as shaq or not. i dont think he will be in the end but to be honest it dont matter. its not like you have to be better than shaq or you had a failed career
Sun Sep 11, 2005 4:18 pm
yao and shaq has different playing styles. Shaq is dominant and more atheltic, and yao is not(which is not a bad thing). Yao doesn't try to be dominant. He tries to pass more, while shaq tries to score more. Both works fine. So in the end you can't really compare the two. Physically and atheltically, we won't see Shaq type of player in a long time, while you might see a lot of Yao type of player, physically and athletically that is. But to be the next Yao, you have to work hard, and learn the game because to make up for the less muscles and athletism, Yao makes up for it by being smart.

But he's 7'5! 7'5!!!

I put Kobe there because he bulked up alot last season but didn't necessarily improve his place. Man.
Sun Sep 11, 2005 6:15 pm
being 7'5 and not averaging 10rpg, you really have to question the guy. There's 6'8 guys that get that, Marion is 6'7 and he does 10 rebounds easy.
It's all about WILL

Oh that's him?! The guy in the picture with a hoop behind him that seemed the same height?
Mon Sep 12, 2005 2:28 am
being 7'5 is not the blessing many seem to think it is. its nice and all but anyone that big moves much slower, its why he gets dunked on like he does. i mean sure being 7'5 is better than 5'7 but i rather be 7'0 myself if i was a center.
Mon Sep 12, 2005 2:20 pm
Height is might in the NBA
Mon Sep 12, 2005 3:54 pm
seems like a double standard here. yao puts on some bulk, apparently muscle on his upper body, and some people say it may not be beneficial and cite something ridiculous like shawn kemp. c'mon, shawn kemp, the butt of many fat jokes for getting fat during the lockout or oliver miller.
of course getting stronger helped bryant's game. allows him to absorb contact/fouls and still finish his drives and other things you don't see on the stat sheet. now did lifting weights make him a better teammate or whatever the problem was in la? different story

No, it's all about PER GAME STATS ARE A LOAD OF CROCK SHIT.
As I've said numerous times, Yao doesn't get the oh so glorious 10 rpg because a) not enough minutes b) Houston plays a low posession so there aren't enough rebounds to grab in the first place. Yao would easily average 10 rpg in Phoenix.
Tue Sep 13, 2005 6:39 am
Believe it or not that guy guarding Yao is this guy, Jaber Arzhoubahfaenbjakbofhugfni
Tue Sep 13, 2005 10:47 am
that guy is scary.. he looks like this. ->
heheheh
Tue Sep 13, 2005 10:59 am
He looks like that thing on the viagra sig..
Tue Sep 13, 2005 4:59 pm
Im afraid..
Tue Sep 13, 2005 5:11 pm
that guy is from iran and he is 7-5!. in the background, you can see the arabic writing but the game is between china and iran. i think the game was in bahrain. when i was in iran a few weeks ago, i watched a few games on tv. iran is a monster in asian basketball but if you compare them to any nba player, they suck.
Tue Sep 13, 2005 5:23 pm
any player from local countries is incomparable to NBA players thats why they hire Imports which is mostly americans..
Tue Sep 13, 2005 5:33 pm
yeah, but i guess one day asian player will improve and will be like manu, parker or gasol. only yao is a good player from asia, but thete is no middle eastern player in nba. mybe this guy from iran jaber is gonna be the first.
