NY Post: Shaq Punches Man Who Bumped Into Wife

NY Post - According to a report in the New York Post, A drunken reveler at a magazine bash at the Loews Hotel was knocked out cold by Miami Heat superstar Shaquille O'Neal after the tipsy fellow bumped into Shaq's wife, Shaunie.
"I just happened to be looking in that direction because I saw this other basketball player — Richard Hamilton from the Detroit Pistons — shaking hands and saying hello to Shaq," partygoer Jean-Paul Bermudez told the Miami New Times.
"A couple seconds later it just looked like Shaq completely snapped. He turned around and punched this other guy right in the face. He totally laid him out with one punch and then he did kind of a running punch when the guy was already on the ground. After that the entire VIP area just collapsed on the guy."
The ruckus caused the house lights to come on and cops to break up the party, according to the paper.

While Shaq has displayed a bit of a temper in the past, it would seem unnecessarily macho and thuggish to do that to someone who simply bumped into his wife by accident. There has to be more to the story.
Speaking of the Brad Miller incident, I remember having a discussion with DR P in the old forum after it happened, in which I contended that Shaq would have knocked Miller out and was dangerous as long as his fists were flying. P opined that Shaq's brute strength alone wouldn't be enough to fell another man, but perhaps I've finally won one over the good Doctor.

Shaq is too a thug. he pretends to be all altruistic but it's all about creating a reputation. He tried to assault the guy who "punk'd" him on MTV too. The guy was probably shitfaced, accidentally touched shaq's wife, and decided "I make 20mil a year, I can do what I want"
