Yeah and the Rivarly's dead now because the Lakers can't compete at the same level as the Kings.

Bulls vs Jazz got 4 votes? :|

I'd like to think that Wilt vs. Russell was huge back in those days, but the Celtics-Lakers rivalry was some of the best.

Celtics V Lakers through the 80's
Bulls V Pistons - Late 80's/early 90's
Bulls V Knicks - Early/Mid 90's
Pacers V Knicks - Through 90's
Bulls V Jazz - Mid/Late 90's
Knicks V Heat - Late 90's/early 00's (my fav..loved the intensity they played with against each other...soooo so many fights  )
Spurs V Lakers - Late 90's/early 00's
Lakers V Kings - 00's
Lakers V Trailsblazers - Trailblazers should have had them in 2000 so there was a lil rivalry for a couple of seasons
Pistons V Pacers - Brawl anyone?
Nuggets V T'wolves - Last 2 seasons each game has been intense

The greatest rivalry between individuals was obviously Russell vs Chamberlain. Bird vs Magic spanned two leagues and is greatly celebrated in part because of the rivalry between the Lakers and Celtics, but no two players matched up against each other as often as Russell and Chamberlain.

As far as teams are concerned, the choice is again obvious: Lakers vs Celtics. It's spanned multiple eras and is so entrenched in the history of both franchies that it's mentioned even today, despite the fact their recent battles haven't boasted the same stakes.

this entire thing is flawed. i voted for bird/magic only cause it was the best choice. infact the only other option is bill/wilt which i nearly picked. the other 3 options are not even real rivalries. you cant play a team twice and call it a rivalry. the only real answer to this question is celtics and lakers. the celtics have not been what they used to be but no rivalry will ever top thiers with the lakers.

I remember the rivalry of Malone and Rodman..Thats why I chose Bulls and Jazz rivalry plus the fact that MJ hit a game winner to end his career but not.

I liked the Bulls vs Pistons in the early 90s, and my favourite recent one is Lakers vs. Kings.

i like how you say recent one. thats what this pole should be, best recent rivalry. take away bird/magic and wilt/bill and just give us 5 rivalries from the past 20 years(since that seems to be roughly the average age of the forum). in that sense i would pick detroit and the pacers just cause they gave me something i have never seen before
