SEATTLE - The Seattle SuperSonics today signed 7-0 center Mikki Moore, Sonics General Manager Rick Sund announced. As per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
"We’re pleased to have Mikki in a Sonics uniform," said Sund. "Mikki's length and his ability to run the floor complements the Sonics’ style of play and gives us added depth at both the center and forward positions."

Last season, Moore’s eighth in the NBA, he appeared in 74 games with the L.A. Clippers, averaging 5.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 15.9 minutes. He shot 50.2 percent from the floor and 78.7 percent from the foul line. Moore started four games and scored in double figures on 17 occasions, including a career-high 18 points in two separate games. Moore recorded a career-high 14 rebounds vs. the L.A. Lakers last season on Dec. 11, 2004.

I say nice pick-up for the Sonics, he has nice rebounding skills and is tough. Kinda fills the void left by James. :?

He's not that bad...

He can be a decent backup... But who will start? Potapenko? Petro?

They need C's bad so it's a good pick-up. But still no starter. What about Robert Swift?

Nothing, it's a happy part of him being garbage.

Good for Mikki. He kinda sucks though.

Thu Sep 01, 2005 5:59 pm

True dat. He likes snakes though.

decent pickup. not many good big men to choose from

I like Mikki even though he feels a need to taunt at the Timberwolves everytim he touches the ball. He is a solid role player but he shouldn't be a guy who have to rely on a lot.

Nets shoulda got him.

Got what point? There really was no point to them..so the point was...?

I'm saying the Nets should of made an effort to try and get him..they suck at the 4 and 5...and instead they got Linton Johnson or whoever...

Fri Sep 02, 2005 10:50 am

Mikki is not starting material. Sonics do need a C fast. But what the heck, nowadays C are hrd to find....very hard

Fri Sep 02, 2005 10:52 am

You go on about how Mikki is garbage, then you go and say the Nets should have gotten him.

You're right about one thing though, your posts have no point.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:29 am

I said Robert Swift was garbage?...

It also was one post. I didn't 'go on' about it...

Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:31 am

not bad.. petro and swift played like hot garbage in the summer leagues.

potapenko should start and in case those younger guys are still crapping in their pants, moore will be the 1st guy backing up potapenko
