Dan Dickau to Boston!

Boston Globe - Celtics executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge confirmed last night that the team has agreed in principle to a sign-and-trade deal with New Orleans that would land point guard Dan Dickau in Boston with a three-year contract worth an average of $2.5 million per year.

Ainge said some details of the deal still must be negotiated, including what the Celtics will give to the Hornets. New Orleans will receive a trade exception in the process.

Dickau, who is 6 feet, 190 pounds, visited Boston yesterday for a physical and chatted with members of the Celtics staff.

''He had a really great day," said Dickau's agent, Mark Bartelstein.

Well Disaster found somewhere he'll get some PT. I think the celtics would have been smarter and better if they signed Earl Watson, he can lock down.

It's already being discussed here: http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic27429.php

oh well...

Ah man!

Lockage? No, actually the other one just hints that he might be coming, it doesn't actually say he was signed by Boston (Y)

Guess we won't see that amazing Dan Dickau run New Orleans offense anymore. (extreme sarcasm...for those who didn't notice.)

I guess this means Payton's gonna go? (Well, I doubt he'd stay in Boston.)

Isn't he going to Phoenix?

They sould let Payton go so Delonte West can play more and get better.

Don't expect this to be Danny's last move. They now have four signed point guards: Dickau, Banks, West, and Bynum. At least one has to go and at least one is gonna go.

This pretty much concludes the Celtics' run with Payton.

"Payton to backup Nash" wasn't legit. My sources were fault. My bad.

Says who? He's a free agent.

Well, if the hornets can get Kirk Snyder and Rasual Butler for a guy whos never evan sat on an NBA bench let alone played a game.... Maybe they'll get Paul Pierce!!! Atleast the celtics clear cap room right? ;p

Actually Boston has five PG's under contract. You forgot Greene.

With five PG's, a bigger trade is on the way or Danny wants competition in camp to be huge. The only position that isn't clotted if PF. Which makes the "boring" part of the Celtics off-season incredibly intresting to follow.

might we see Marcus Banks dealt?!? I think so....

come opening day, the PG's on the C's roster will be Delonte West (starting), Dan Dickau (backup), Orien Greene and Will Bynum (fighting for 3rd string)....

no starting quality PG's, but West and Dickau are good backups....hopefully West can continue to develop and Dickau gets PT....

I think Greene didn't sign yet.
