8 or 9 mil MAX! What else can he do apart from shoot? He isnt very good defensively, can grab a couple of boards like everyone else and maybe get an assist or two but nothin near 12mil worth....

Not necessarily. They have Joe Johnsons massive contract plus they will have Josh Smith, Josh Childress, Marvin Williams and Salim Stoudemires contracts to deal with in a couple of years leaving them back where they started again.
If they sign Smith/Childress and any others to medium-big size contracts then their chances of resigning Williams and Stoudemire are slim
