Please, when you make a post, put some input about the subject. Anyone can find a link and post it, please talk about the subject and stop SPAMMING!!

Ok, Sorry...

Anyways, I don't see what you guys think is strange about this trade. I see it as a good deal for both sides. Minny obviously needed to get rid of Cassel, and they need to go younger, and Jaric fits their category of point guard that they need.

The Clips need to get some playoff expirience on their team. Sam Cassel still has game in him, he just needed a change of scenery. Moving to LA could be a great situation for him.

I like this trade for both sides.

An entire post with no reference to the pacers :D

I was worried that you'd put
"Tinsley is much better than Cassell and Jaric, so this trade bears no meaning on the Pacers" or something.

Anyhow, are Clippers...trying..to win? Did Elgin Baylor and Donald Sterling suddenly want to know what winning feels like instead of swimming in their own money? Or is it because now the Clips don't get money for being under cap! (AH-HA! not a coincidence!!)
Bored.

as a clippers fan its bittersweet. i loved jaric and his defensive quickness. he always would get his hands on passes and at least stop the clock, and make the opposing teams make sure they're passing was crisp at all times. i loved watching him develop, from being a rookie who would make it in the paint and try to ginobili the ball up putting ridiculous english on it, having brick layups.....to last year, watching him get 7+ assists consistently (while healthy), and take his jumpshot from subpar to near deadly behind screens. as for chalmers, didn't play enough, but had good work ethic from what i know of, so sad as well, but not as much as jaric.

also as a clippers fan, i'm completely ELATED to have a veteran presence on the team, who can teach young magic (shaun livingston) some tricks of the trade, (hopefully not the low-down   ) and tutor him his mid-range game. also, last year watching the t'wolves kill the clippers repeatedly with cassell-led 4th quarter comebacks, its nice to know that our newly acquired sam "the alien" has something sparked in his head when he's in LA.

i think we'll be 7th or 8th seed this year, and it's about that time!

Finally a good trade for us, we needed a veteran and Sam I Am's got two rings and a heap of playoff experience which is gonna be massive. I guess this means Shaun will come off the bench but it maybe good in a way cause even though it'll slow down his development that much reducing his minutes might be a good idea since hes got low endurance.

We didnt need Chalmers anyway so no big loss their and I never did like Marko, I guess to sum it up we sent a natural two trying to turn to a natural pg and got a natural sg whose adapted and practically become a natural pg.

On a side note, we're back in talks with Boston about Paul Pierce. :o

I'm just wondering, where and when did Sam Cassel win two rings? I didn't know this, just wondering...(don't flame me for spamming/off-topicking)

But going back on topic. This is a good trade for Minnesota, getting some younger players to play with KG.

Clippers gaining Sam Cassel is not bad either.... he can provide the playoffs experience

I guess this is an alright deal for the Clippers... they're heading i nthe right direction, especially with sending Marko away with Sam in return. In a few seasons, ivingston will be contributing and this is good. Along with Cat, the Clippers have done alright this Summer.

Houston... Had Hakeem to help him out, of course...

This is a good deal if you take each team's individual situation prior to it and/or the relations with th einvolved players... Both teams get something out of nothing in the end. (Y)

I'm kind of thinking that Clippers made a gamble move by signing Cassell. Cassell has been bothering by injuries last season in which he is still not 100% healthy. But if he is healthy this season, he should help the Clippers to get a playoffs berth this season. Jaric is a good addition to the Wolves. He should help the Wolves get back to the playoffs as well.

One year ago Sam Cassell was all nba second team. Unless Sam retires in the next two weeks, this is the dumbest trade I have ever seen. The Clippers have got themselves a nice team that isnt based solely on potential like in years past.

It's a good deal for the Clippers. They now have a solid starter, which should help them next season. (Y)

Sammy Cass is a good guy, he will be upset to leave KG but this will make LAC a much better team, and he can help out Livingston a bit here and there.

Clips starting 5

C Kaman
PF Brand
SF Maggette
SG Mobley
PG Cassell

Not bad, that could work out nicely, Mobley being a great 3 point shooter with pressure put on three other players should lead to him getting open a fair bit, also Brand and Maggette have two other guys that can carry the team, whereas before they had nothin.
If they are healthy, I think they will make playoffs.
I thought they were done after losing Simmons, but they have improved, I think anywayz.

I think it looks like a saftey blanket for Shaun Livinston and the Clipppers organization. Seeing as livingston missed like 2 months of last season and he cant shoot the basketball, looks like Sam is their guy to come in and do the scoring at the point por them. If Livinston cant play at the NBA speed then they havecassel to put in there and he can run the show for 30 minutes a night.

Bad deal for teh T-Wolave Jaric is terriable he got most of his open threes from Elton B down low and the only reason he got 6 assists per game was that he would pass the ball to Maggette or Simmons and once they have the rock theyre gonna shoot it.

It's a good trade on both sides; Minny gets rid of a cancer and adds a pretty good young player in Jaric. On the other side, although the Clippers take a risk with a player that was hobbled by injuries the previous year, they gain a valuable veteran with possibly another couple of good years left in him.

When you get a safety blanket, don't you want a guy who's not injury prone?

Anyways, I like the move, Jaric didn't want to return, and it wouldn't be good for him to be an angry camper. Cassell will help with shooting in the backcourt, and since he's a natural scorer, he can play the 2 while Livingston plays PG in different lineups. This moves gives some interesting matchups to the teams backcourt, and adds some nice experience.

I dont know where you get injury prone from. Cassell had last year that he didnt play much because of injury, the reason he missed soo much time was because the hip that bothered him last year in the playoffs and this last season could have been totally different if Cassell instead of waiting on surgery til after the playoffs, where he sat and watched his team lose to the Lakers, he could have gotten the surgery done then and he would have been healthy for this past season.

And with everyone saying Sam is "injury prone" look at his last 6 seasons...

..YEAR..G
99-00 81
00-01 76
01-02 74
02-03 78
03-04 81
04-05 59

Except for last year he has been pretty durable, all these games played were after he turned 30 So dont jump to conclusions and say hes a broken toy..

lmao I made a thread about this too.. my bad.

I think its a shitty trade imo.. I'd rather have Jaric on my team by far. Although Cassell does bring experience to the team. But that enormous head of his is weird :? Looks like Jae. payback biatch!

I think most ppl were concerned about his current injury which may carry on or never fully recover from, but I guess "injury prone" can slip up when it shouldn't have been intended when taking his previous seasons into consideration.

Yeah, I'd only want Jaric over Cassell because anyone's better than someone that'd going to be injured all the time, if that's what little old Gollum's going to be.
