SAR is a great fit for the Kings' offensive style, especially teamed up with Brad Miller... Two guys with soft hands and killer instincts in the paint can do a great deal of damage... plus there's Kenny Thomas and Songaile to bring the needed toughness of the bench...

This would be a GREAT move by the Kings... 8-)

Thomas isn't a bad player but I can't see him starting ahead of Shareef if he goes to Sacramento. By the way, how is the move rumoured to be happening - sign-and-trade or straight out free agent signing?

Not sure, but I think they should do a sign and trade. The Blazers should get something in return

That would obviously be the best case scenario for Portland, but Reef's an unrestricted free agent so they might not have that luxury.

So, if this happens, starting five would be Bibby, Wells, Peja, Reef and Miller. Pretty nice lineup. BTW, whos is the source of this news?

I totally disagree with people saying that SAR is a great fit for the Kings.

He's a black hole, the Kings typically like their big men to pass.

The kings will never learn, when are they going to start building a team that can defend. Until they do, they will never be a serious contender.

Brad Milelr is the best pasing big man in the league... he van make up for Rahim's passing deficiencies...

Well, it's kind of too late now, unless they're going to squash pretty much all of their roster.

the kings should make the playoffs if they get SAR

that's a pretty loaded lineup on offense

defense though....

let me rephrase then hehe...

the current roster is a bubble playoff team

the kings are a lock to make the playoffs should the team acquire SAR (provided no major injuries)

So-so signing for the Kings. Tough decision on who stars. Kings also signed Jamal Sampson.

KINGS SIGN FREE AGENT FORWARD SHAREEF ABDUR-RAHIM

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento Kings today signed forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim, according to Kings’ President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"We’re really delighted to be able to add a high-caliber player, as well as a high quality person to our team such as Shareef," said Petrie. "He’s going to add more length, more scoring and more rebounding. His addition will improve us in a number of areas in which we wanted to get better. We’re looking forward to many enjoyable moments watching him play for the Kings."

Five shooters, no defenders and one rebounder...

They are going to have to put up a lot of points this season if they plan on being successful.

Plus, you have five guys who are all used to putting up 20+ shots per game, this team may have some problems with chemistry...

Well, I was kind of surprise that Rahim eventually play for the Kings this season. He is a nice addition to the Kings, especially since Webber left from the Kings. He should gives the Kings some decent low post scoring and rebounding. As for the Nets, if they see Rahim play very well this season. The Nets are going to be very disappointed as to why they didn't sign Rahim where they have the chance to. Too late now, as Rahim is now a King. Overall, good move by the Kings. (Y)

It's not like the Nets could have done anything... although maybe they could have handled the situation a little better... a failed physical is still a failed physical.

Nets are gonna regret their decision to let Reef go.

Kings though, they are loaded offensively and as long as they keep making shots they should keep winning. Then again, they never did play defense and they got an All-Star player for half the price of Webber.

Yeah, from 2000 to 2003 they only ranked 11th, 7th, 6th and 2nd on defense.
