There are 2 sports in the world that I love.. Basketball and Aussie Rules Footy..

why I love them:
  • Frequent scoring
  • Fast pace
  • strategically deep
  • nail biting/gut wrenching finishes
  • the right balance of strength, agility, and finesse
  • rarely a dull moment
  • the depth of gameplay that allows quality players to elevate their game to the level of gods
  • the diversity of player attributes

Aussie Rules

Nothing I really "love" about the NBA, basketball's fun sometimes on a whole... I just wanted to laugh at Aussie Rules.

It's a rubbish sport played mostly by pansies. No offence to any current Aussie Rules players.

The AFL is one of the oldest (est 1896) and proudest professional sports on the face of this planet..

Football is a sport of warriors of the truest kind, where intelligence is as equally valued as strength..

Warriors? Like the type who shoulder barge a guy who's been injured and is trying to walk off the field? I'd say "cowards" is closer to the point

Aussie Rules is the greatest sport on the planet, nothing compares to the courage, athleticism and skills that these guys produce! As mentioned by Endboss/Mercury (or Birdman- so many options LOL), the characteristics he mentioned are the reasons why I love both sports. And Jae how many pansies do you know that play a sport in which legs have been cleanly broken (through both bones), visibly that you can see the bone in the wrong direction (e.g. Nathan Brown), or have players compete a whole game with a punctured lung (e.g. Dipper 1989 GF) or had their eye sockets shattered during a game. I'm guessing none, as these guys are brave SOB's who put their bodies on the line to compete at the highest level every week.

Nah it's commonly known in Eastern states as "aerial ping pong"... actually has nothing to do with basketball at all, so will be split if this conversation takes over.

The main thing about basketball is that there's always action, continuous changes in the scoreboard, and a great amount of control and creativity that is involved when handling or shooting the ball... In a few words, one rarely gets bored during a basketball game unless it's a blowout of some sort.

game winning shots for games, playoff clinchers, playoff series, titles, in March Madness and so on....it's all about the drama and beauty of the game winning shot, regardless of if the player on your fav team hits it or not, or gets it hit over them.... (Y)
