Lorenzen Wright Trade Offers Come Pouring In

7th August, 2005 - 12:50 pm

Commercial Appeal - Lorenzen Wright deals have poured in from at least a half dozen teams.

The most persistent suitors have been Toronto and San Antonio but both teams are offering less serviceable players and bloated contracts.

The Grizzlies have rejected those as wells as offers from Utah, Sacramento, Minnesota.

I would love the idea of him coming to Toronto but who to trade ? I would offer them Aaron and Eric Williams for Wright and Burks.

Hey CB4, is the idea of Magloire coming to Toronto totally and completely dead?

Not exactly. Many fans from Toronto still want Magloire for obvious reasons. I'd also think that Rob Babcock is still trying to get a deal done with them, but he's the type of guy that doesn't even hint at any trading possibilities.

I'm just curious, because a lot of Pacer fans are interested in bringing him in.

I think Wright is a serviceable backup, but as a starter I would feel a little worried.

What the Grizzlies are looking for in Wright is a legit big man that can start in the middle and take Wright's place. For one while, they were looking at Nazr Mohammed for the Spurs, so I don't know if they are still trying to work a deal out for him or what.

Blount and Q. Woods for Wright! Whoopie! Memphis gets raped in another trade.

I'm so goddamn bored...

Lafrentz has a contract the size of... um... something really, really big.

Yep, but Blount would be more of someone to be adding in a deal. Since CB4 didn't really include everything in that article, it also said that we were still trying to go after Pierce from the Celtics. Also, when asked about was the team still trying to work out some more deals, West replied quickly "Absolutely" Obviously the Celtics were trying to send Lafrentz in the packaged deal or they wanted Battier. It had to be something where neither could come to an agreement, but maybe something can still be worked out.

Grizzly gossip from the trading frenzy revealed that among the first Wells deals proposed involved Boston and Paul Pierce. The teams couldn't agree on the complete package but don't rule out the Griz talking to Boston before training camp. ... Lorenzen Wright deals have poured in from at least a half dozen teams. Pierce could be had if Wright, Battier/Miller and picks went the other way. I really don't think he could be had cheaper considering all.

Pierce, Blount for Wright, Battier/Miller
Pierce, Lafrentz for Wright, Battier/Miller and picks
Pierce, Blount, Banks for Wright, Watson and Battier/Miller

YES!!! I like this a lot. I would love to see Wright on the raptors. He's always been solid. I think the raps got some players that Memphis might want, for salary cap clearance or whatever. Aaron Williams will certainly be one of them and since Posey is gone they might be looking at a SF such as Murray or Eric Williams.......SWEEET!!!

That's the only one I would consider because the team belongs to Gasol, Battier and Miller and there is no way both of them will be dealt with. Most likely it would be Miller leaving in the deal if something did happen though.

Don't think you'll come away with both Pierce and Banks without adding picks though.

Well I think if they were to add some pics, it would have to be lottery protected or at least one of them lotto protected

Ah on the contrary  ...

Indy, before my post wrote:I'm just curious, because a lot of Pacer fans are interested in bringing him in.

Anyways Boston would be a decent fit for Wright, how they'd get him exactly is another matter. Same goes for Indiana to be fair.
