The more I look at the deal, the more I'm not upset because we did lose caproom in the trade. It's not one of the best deals for us to make, but I still think we have at least one more deal to come to land us a legit center. If we can end up getting that legit center before the season start, then I would give our offseason a A- or B+. Eddie Jones is old and is making alot of money, but we didn't have to play the luxury tax if we ended up signing Damon and not being able to trade Jwill. So don't forget, the Grizzlies are still getting Stoudamire (most likely) and the Grizzlies are still deep as a roster which is why I think we are going to cut the roster down a little bit more to still acquire a solid big man or maybe an all-star. Right now the depth chart is looking like this with a signed Stoudamire:

PG- Stoudamire/ Jackson/ Burks
SG- Miller/ E. Jones/ D. Jones (it's going to be tough to see who will start between Miller and Jones)
SF- Battier/ Cardinal/ Warrick
PF- Gasol/ Warrick/ Roberts
C- Wright/ Tsakalidis

I think what West is trying to do is get more veteran leadership on the team from what we've had in the past years so we could most likely do more damage in the playoffs. That's obvious for the past moves he has been making. I will be waiting for more deals to happen soon. Also for everybody thinking the Heat are automatically going to win the title, how do you feel that those 3 players are just going to connect with the rest of the team just like that :? I mean I don't think Jwill, Posey and Walker are going to play with Wade and Shaq like they've been playing with them for years. Obviously, it takes time for new players to get acquainted with each other. The Heat aren't going to have a cakewalk this year and I don't really think they are great right now. I still think the Spurs, Pistons, and now healthy Pacers will end up knocking the Heat out of the playoffs.

Mafia, will you shutup already? You were the one going all spastic about that trade never happening since they are going young and what not so it'll never happen and now that it does you justify it by using the older & wiser crap.

My God, you don't have to ride Memphis all the time, you know. :x

Yea I didn't think it wasn't going to happen because of us giving up Posey. I could careless about us giving up Jwill. IMO, the best player the Heat got in that deal was Posey and from all these forums I've been to, I've heard Jwill name millions of time and Posey's name only a few times because it shows how much basketball knowledge they have. If they knew any better, they would know that Posey would most likely make the team better throughout the trade because he is definitely an upgrade over Jones, but the Grizzlies got better offensively in the deal by acquiring Jones because I believe he can put up more points than Posey can on a consistent basis. And what do you mean, I didn't believe in the deal because they were going young? And I'm not riding Memphis, I just know the facts about the game. You know good and well that everybody was all excited when the Lakers got Malone and Payton and they ended up not winning one ring. Of course you like the deal because you love Shaq supposingly :? If Jwill had altercations with Adelman, Lowe, Hubie and Fratello, don't that makes you think he will have one with Van Gundy or Riley? I like to make good arguments, not say things like "the Grizzlies picked up Eddie JOnes !!!!!!11111111 we are going to be good, i knwo we are, i just can't belive it" I wouldn't mind being happy for the Heat if they didn't have so many riders as of now, it doesn't even make any sense.

i was thinking.. walker wasn't so bad when he was dallas. his scoring was down (obviously) but his rebounding and assist numbers were solid. same with his TO's.

when he returned to boston, he was pretty good too. if i'm not mistaken he was top 5 in points scored in the paint this past year. so for all you haters who blindly still think he's some mindless chucker, eat your heart out

imo i think walker has matured, understands he isn't the #1 guy, and will accept a complimentary role

i agree with mafia's take on posey.. more suited to go against SF's defensively then jones

i don't know about jwilliams. just as bad as damon jones on defense if not worse, billups will be feasting on the heat even more lol, a worse 3pt shooter, and overall doesn't seem like the ideal fit for this heat roster.

we'll see what happens...

can't agree with the assessment of the '00 blazer team. pippen was the leader of that team and they lost a seven gamer to the eventual champion lakers. the winner of the matchup was the a favorite to win the title anyway

now the '01 team was a disappointment but clearly sabonis, pip, and smith were on the decline
