Why would it be more important to keep the cheaper player happier than the player they just splurged 52mil over 6 years?

Nope, watch and see 'Toine starting.

Wtf, so it's Jwill, Watson, Posey and Emmet for Eddie Jones and Marcus Banks? Who would possibly make that trade and not be on the gangja? A pretty good Watson, a pretty good Posey, and potential in Emmett for a wash out and a potentially decent guard?

Where do you get the BJax part?

I read mafia's article wrong. My bad.

No worries, I was just making sure I wasn't blind.

I am very excited about the Heat, I can't wait until the season starts. Good move. (Y)

Either they're fleecing themselves for cap space or they're going for the lose at no cost strategy..

given that this is Jerry West we're talking about, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's probably the former

Don't forget Shaq makes his teammates better! And Wade does too. 2 players making their teammates better should be good.

wow thats the biggest trade in NBA history

the Heat are lookin like a serious contender now

i hope Isiah makes another trade before preseason starts, the Knicks have no chance against the Heat with that lineup

Wed Aug 03, 2005 4:19 pm

at the moment it's a pretty long list of teams that the Knicks don't have a chance against

if isiah wants to pull an 8th seed worthy team out of his ass then he might want to stand up

Wed Aug 03, 2005 5:10 pm

ya i totally agree

we have way too many guards

its gonna be hard as hell to move penny and houston

penny may be tradeable because this is his last year so someone may jus pick em up

**this is my 500th post**

shout out to me and noone else for having 500 big posts since 2002

Boston got a lot for a player they didn't want in the first place.

Utah must have been trying to free up cap space.

Wed Aug 03, 2005 5:22 pm

Dude, Miami IMO got the best part of this trade, obviously depending on how Toine does. Remember in Dallas where he just didn't fit i nand they forced him to play C and a more conservative role? He hated it, but let's see if Shaq can change it.

Wed Aug 03, 2005 6:08 pm

DAMN IT'S OFFICIAL!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! I'm going to have to change my tar and sig now.

what an awesome trade though

fuck is all i have to say.

In terms of talent, the Heat are obviously the big winners. But that still doesn't make this trade the right move for Miami. The "stacked" team plan hasn't worked for some time. Looks great on paper, but I think both 'Toine and J-Will are the wrong players. When you're one win away from the Finals, you plug holes; you don't overhaul. I know, I know, now that I've said that the Heat will win it all. But right now I don't think it was the right move to make.

I really don't think I can pick a winner out of that trade. I suppose it's Miami because they're getting more talent than they're giving up but I don't think any team truly improved. I will however nominate Utah as the losers of the deal.

How the hame of planet earth Utah got Ostertag again :x ? Wasn't he traded in that Sacramento-Utah-memphis trade  ?

Wed Aug 03, 2005 9:30 pm

I say we wait and see how it'll work out.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 10:32 am

it says there is a lack of quality centers in the league and that shaq can play on a high level

What won't you say to just go against the tide?

The way you said that, you make him sound as if he's some mediocre player. :shake:

Still waiting to collect...

Players can change. Everyone here in LA is hoping for Kwame to change. I feel that Walker and J-Will playing with Shaq and playing for Riley will change them. Neither has been in a situation with this good of a chance to win a championship. I see them accepting their roles on this team. I think they can take the east (thru the Nets) but will not beat the Spurs. (it's way to early but I am making this asumption from a roster stand point.)

Thu Aug 04, 2005 11:30 am

Man, I can't wait for everyone to hop on the Heat bandwagon, watch the team crumble, and then hop off the bandwagon when they get destroyed in the post season.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 11:55 am

Its like the so-called SUPER LAKERS, everyone thought GP and Karl Malone would be all pretty nice with 15 shots combined a game and we know how that team finished up...But Miami looks like a good team in the video games but Antione Walker will totally fuck any and all chemistry that team had because he takes sooooo many shots even when he could pass to a WIDE OPEN teammate. The heat wont even be the bes in the East it'll be Detroit or Indiana in the Finals...

Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:57 pm

I was playing against the Heat in NBA Live, and Antoine Walker led them in FG attempts, it was quite funny . He started the game 1-2, then a minute later he was like 2-7

i think this might f up miami b/c of Jwill and Toine and there un-teamly playing styles...hopefully shaq and flash can whip em into shape tho...

Thu Aug 04, 2005 2:42 pm

im really concerned on the acquisition of antione walker. J. Williams is ok since they needed a PG, but Walker is a little risky. He might be a backup pointguard sort of playing point-foward so haslem can play at the same time.

That is what I think going to happen during the season.
