Saras is a Pacer

You know, I think Wade is getting better at a rate faster than Shaq is getting worse. Plus Pacers losing REGGIE MILLER SHOULD be a much bigger impact than Heat losing Keyon Dooling or whatever amount people think Shaq is getting older, or woudln't that be insulting Reggie? Do you really think Saras (you know nobody is going to spell Jalevicius or whatever bleah) will be better than Reggie Miller? Reggie Miller was the leader, the soul of the team. Will players play as hard as they did last year, as they desperatedly tried to win with an injured and suspension riddled team, just hanging on to that tiny chance of giving Reggie Miller his ring? I think losing such a player will have a huge negative impact on the team, even if his stats were going down so much. Plus Keyon is a horrible decision maker. He's done some really stupid stuff in the playoffs. The Heat will get some PG for sure...

Not to mention Earl Barron and Wayne Simien put some amazing performances in the summer leagues. I believe the Heat, and also although I hate to admit it, Detroit are still THE teams to beat in the East.

I think only you there is thinking that Pacers bought Saras (Jasikevicius, btw...) to replace Miller...

I'm surprised Cleveland didn't nab him. Looks like only a handful would want to go to Cleveland, but whatever Larry Bird and Co. did to nab Sarunas, they did a great job, as usual.

Its fun, we actually decided to stay one more night because we're enjoying ourselves. We were supposed to leave for Indianapolis today, but neither of us really felt like it, so we just got out of the pool.

No. Reggie Miller has been preparing this franchise for when he leaves for the last 5 seasons. He wouldn't leave unless he knew it was a time when the team had a great chance to win it all.

I think that's ridiculous to say they were only playing as hard as they were for Reggie. Tinsley once said "The playoffs are like a narcotic. I can't get enough of it and I can't wait for more." JO is one of the most motivated to win players I have ever seen. Tinsley now has to work his ass off if he wants to keep the starting job because Saras is going to work his ass off, you know that. A tinsley motivated extra to keep his job is dangerous... very very dangerous.

This team will have no problems with motivation, are you kidding me? After the season those guys just went through? They will have a chip on their shoulder and they will come out ready for revenge.

Yes, but the season they went through was for Reggie. They played extra hard for Reggie. I don't know how you can think that THAT had nothing to do. I think it had everything to do with it. Basically, I'm not saying Pacers lacked effort otherwise. I meant Pacers played with SUPREME effort because they wanted to give Reggie Miller a chance to get a ring. (However small that chance was.) You know how powerful the will to win is if you're thinking "I want to win to give our leader a chance at his dream." The Pacers had a supernatural season. Don't you think in the back of their minds they were thinking "I must win this...Reggie won't play next year.."? It's kind of like the Eastern All-Stars and Western All-Stars during Jordan's last all star game. I thought there was no way in the world the East would win. They held up greatly and even had a chance to win the game, if it weren't for J O'Neal's foul or Jordan's missed shot. I remember what O'Neal said after the foul "I didn't foul, but even if I did, you will not call it." You can just imagine Jermaine O'Neal thinking "This is my idol's last all-star game...I can't ruin it for him"
Not to mention Reggie Miller had a great year too. 14.8 ppg, 93.3 FT%. Plus you can't buy, teach, or give clutch. Who is going to have the ball to take the last shot? Up until now it was simple "Reggie Miller". Now what do they do. Can you really say ANYONE in that team is even close to the clutch player Reggie Miller was?
You're saying as if the loss of Reggie Miller will have no effect on the team. A loss of a leader is damaging for any team/army/group entity. Who will be there to motivate the team? Who will be the symbol of the team? Jermaine O'Neal? Ron Artest? I just don't see them replacing Reggie Miller as the true leader of the team. When I hear Pacers, I think Reggie Miller. Even if Jermaine O'Neal, Ron Artest, Stephen Jackson are by far better players right now.
The loss of Reggie Miller might be insignificant statistically, but replacing a leader, a legend...is nearly impossible.

I look at Reggie's leadership skills differently. The impact he left is larger then just him being in the locker room. His impact will last on these guys even after he is gone.

Just because he isn't suiting up for games doesn't mean he isn't still affecting them.
