What if...Live had a Freestyle Superpowers System? (parody)

Postby Bang on Sat Jul 23, 2005 8:42 pm

Imagine one day after the game designers of NBA Live had been wondering "what makes this game popular? It's the superstars! What can we do to make them special?"
"Let's give them superpowers."
Although NBA Live already had an arcade street basketball game called NBA Street, they thought that even street wasn't arcadey enough so they made this game even arcadier. Here are some superpowers.

Shaq: Steel Power
Shaq's body turns into steel. During this state you can push players and they'll fly into the stands because of Shaq's power.
Seismic Dunk: Shaq Dunks and destroys the backboard and also creates a large hole in the ground. All opponent players lose morale.

Dwayne Wade: Lightning Power
Super Wade Crossover: Wade blazes through his opponent in a few seconds and immediatedly goes for a dunk. This sequence is so fast you can't even see it in instant replay without blurring.

LeBron James: Super Jumping
LeBron James Dunk: LeBron jumps so high he almost touches the stadium ceiling and then throws a thunderous dunk.

Ron Artest: Fists of Fury
When Ron Artest fills up his rage meter, do quarter circle forward, half circle back followed by the b button and he'll beat the hell out of a player in the court with massive combos.

Ben Wallace: Super Blocks
Ben Wallaces swats the ball so hard that the ball goes flying to the stands as well as the player. The fan in the stands dies immediatedly.

Chris Webber: The invisible timeout
Can create an invisible timeout where everyone is immobile for a few seconds. However, a technical foul will always follow this and if the shot isn't made in time it won't count.

Vince Carter: Air Cana...New Jersey..
He can dunk from half court...but you must tap the right sequence of buttons. If you fail three times you get injured for a season.

Earl Boykins: Shrinking power.
Earl Boykins can shrink and run under people's legs! If you get blocked though...you might be screwed.

Yao: Great Wall of China.
Creates a wall of Yao Mings...it flops on contact. If successful, 6 fouls are called, immediatedly fouling out the player. However, you can get 6 offensive fouls as well.

Tayshuan Prince: Teleport Block.
You can block any shot from the court using his teleport block. However, this thing can only be used a few times and it destroys Prince's stamina.

Kobe: Super powers removed from the game to lower ERSB ratings from AO to E.

 nice, i have some more classic players.....

Michael Jordan:Flying Elbows
Can knock players out with his elbows while dunking magically!

Reggie Miller:The Never Ending Mouth
Talks all game, causing other, weaker-willed players into submition all game. Causes strionger players to gain Artest's power temp.

Walt Fraiser:The Power of Mink
Can wow other players into trying on his coats while he goes to the bakets.

George Mikan: Intelligence Strikes Back
Confuses other players in the block as he talks about archetecture.

Karl Malone: Trucker's Attack!
Runs through other players in a big rig on way to basket.

Wilt Chaimberlain: Also removed so Hillary Clinton dosen't have a field day.

Image

Allen Iverson: Gang$tah Prowess
Allen Iverson finally becomes a rapper and will rap until the defender gets pscyhed out because of a horrendous performance.

Jason & Jarron Collins: The Power of Two
Both will combine to become the greatest Center ever.

Ben Wallace should have a rage meter. If he gets fouled too much you lose control of him and he finds the nearest opposing player and shoves their neck away.

Jason and Jarron Collins part 2: Fusion Power
If you tap the correct sequence of buttons and time them perfectly, Jason and Jarron Collins turns into a super basketball player. (Jasron Collins?)
Time it wrong or press the wrong buttons and they fuse to form Oliver Miller.

Jayson Williams: The Shotgun
Fires a player with a shotgun.
You must have a shitload of money or else Jayson Williams is out forever.

Shawn Kemp: Kempian Army
Shawn Kemp and his 2 million illegitimate children join to form...Young Shawn Kemp.

Tim Duncan: Mr. Boring
Causes everyone in the court to sleep.

Larry Bird: "We need more white superstars"
All white players of the nba fuse to create...Larry Bird..

K-mart: Fugazy
Turns a player into fugazy (fake jewelry). Only works on players with low skill level.

Sam Cassell: Plain Ugliness
If he stares at you, you turn into stone.

David Stern: Napoleonic Power
Basically he's Xavier. He can manipulate the world of basketball at will. Despite having no basketball talent he is the most powerful player in the game.
Bored.

Heres one:

Jay Williams: on a fast break double tapping turbo will allow him to mount a bike and get to the basket faster, leaving everyone in the dust. However after he scores he crashes into the base of the basket and is out for 2 years.

Yes forgot to mention that was the shittest one of them all

Wouldn't he have some sort of "flopping hair" or "grease power"
He would blind his opponents with the amount of grease in his hair and the flopping bit of the hair dribbles for him while he refills the grease :?
