Last Days

Postby Stevesanity on Thu Jul 21, 2005 10:59 pm

http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/lastdays.html

Premise: "Last Days" follows Blake, an introspective artist who is buckling under the weight of fame, through a handful of hours he spends in and near his wooded home, a fugitive from his own life. It is a period of random moments and fractured consciousness, fused by spontaneous bursts of rock & roll.

Based Upon: The film is inspired by the last hours of Kurt Cobain's life, but is entirely fictionalized.

A movie to pay homage to Kurt, should be interesting.

Sounds interesting, not sure I'll go to the theatre to watch it though. At the moment I'm most excited about the Da Vinci Code movie. :D

I'm a big fan of Nirvana, and not sure how Nirvana-related this movie would be. If it's entirely fictionalized, then Kurt might look like Tom Hanks rather than Kurt :|

Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching the Da Vinci Code starring you know who, as well!

No, Tom Hanks has been casted as Robert Langod. Which was the wrong, wrong choice I says. That character was written with Harrison Ford in mind. :shake:

Is it true that there's a Kurt Cobain's picture, showing his "head" after his dead? I saw it in a magazine but I doubt it's a real one.

I don't think so. I did see the body, but the camera cropped off the head.

Yeah, I've heard about that a lot. Even though Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors, I have to admit that his character doesn't fit the part. Maybe he'll pull it off considering what a great actor he is, but we'll see.

Tom is very, VERY versatile when the role demands it.

He can be versatile & I'm confident he'll pull it off, but I can't not imagine Ford when I think Langdon. :(

Maybe there's going to be heavy makeup to make Hanks look similar to Ford, but without Ford's acting :!:

Yup, Hanks as Langdon has gotta be one of the biggest casting mistakes in a long time. (N)

Ford busted his rep by acting with Harnett in Hollywood Homicide, he hasnt been in the movies for almost 2 years now and I think he might still be shaky after the mess with Flockhart.

Hanks will prolly rip it like he always does, I cant wait for the movie. Sir Ian McKellen's in it too and of course its always gonna be special when its done by Ron Howard.

They aren't going to play the theory that Courtney love hired someone to murder Kurt...

I'm quite confident that crack whore was behind his death.

Returning to Langdon, how come they didn't make Angels & Demons first? It was just as good as the Vinci Code, thing is that the second books was just blown WAY out of proportion, it was good, but I can't say it was better than Angels & Demons.

I bet if the movie is a hit (which it probably will be thanks to Howard, Hanks & ofcourse, the story) they'll come with Angels & Demons a la Red Dragon after Silence of the Lambs. (In case people didn't know, it goes like this: Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, now the fourth part is coming.)

I would've preferred they just went according to how the books go, this way we'd know Langdon better too. :(

Edit: There's a movie based on the fourth novel already too, well in the making atleast:

Oh God, not another Silence sequel!! :(

And the worst part is that Anthony Hopkins agrees to film those pieces of shit. I love Ed Norton and stuff but Red Dragon was hopeless, let alone Hannibal.
Silence was a masterpiece, I can't understand why they keep trying...

wtf, I didn't know Edward Norton was in Red Dragon. I love his movies.

Silence of the Lambs was good, and I actually fell asleep watching Hannibal in the theaters because there was waaaay too much dialogue. I feel that I'm too far behind to catch up. Kinda like how I feel about Star Wars and Harry Potter (not that I'm missing out or anything )

Star Wars you could definitely see and still be "in touch" with... I couldn't remember a single thing from any of the 5 Star Wars episodes until I saw the most recent one and I still really enjoyed it, and things somehow fell into place. Harry Potter is a lost cause.

Yeah, if you haven't followed Potter from the first book, don't try.

Btw, the books of Hannibal Lectar > the movies. In the books you're let into the mind of Lectar, the movies just portray him as a psychopath, in the books he's portrayed as a genius. Which is quite correct, the man is a work of art, I would be in awe of him were he real.
