Tattoos

Postby cklitsie on Wed Jul 20, 2005 8:11 am

Inspired by some posts in the song of your life thread, I decided to make this one.

Anyone in here have any tattoos? What do you have and where (don't show/tell if it's not a "straight" place) PLEASE.

And who is looking to get one in the future (where, what)?

Or for the people not planning to get one, what would you pick if you were forced to get a tattoo? (Or: what would you get if you weren't such a pussy).

Myself - I like a subtle tattoo, just not too big and not too much. I'm not sure if I'll ever get one, my parents don't like them, so right now - no.
But you never know, I have a strange feeling that I'm going to get one in the future just to piss my parents off.

In that case, I think this would be it:
Image
Anyway, I'd NEVER take one with someone's name in it, or it has to have RIP infront of it, but that's a little too gangstar IMO.

I've got no tattoo's but thought of it numerous times... I guess I'm just worried about how it looks when I grow old  Besides it doesn't look too good in the profession I'm in..

who knows I might get something in the next few years.. btw Ceekay that tat is sweet..you should get it on your chest or something..

I have the Pacers logo tattooed on my right leg with the number 3 on one side of it and 1 on the other side, then above the logo is the text "Pacer" and underneath the logo says "Pride"

This is getting serious... you have a rare case of 'Hoosier-itis'... Can be cured by relocating to New York City, attending MSG events and playing a part in a Spike Lee movie. :D

As in... Pacer Pride Sucks?

EDIT: D-Weaver, I happen to love New York City, I happen to love Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing, 25th Hour and Malcolm X are some of my favorite movies) but MSG... :shake: too dark for my liking

I'd rather watch the "Smashing holiday hit, JINGLE ALL THE WAY!" - Arnold

No, I don't want one nor do I have one.

I don't really see the point, if you like the image so much, walk around with it pasted to your arm or forehead, this way everyone gets to see the oh so cool picture & you can just take it off when you get home.

Besides, what is cooler than walking around with a post it note with an image drawn onto it with crayon stuck to your forehead, a tattoo? Right.

Ditto, no tattoo for me. I don't know if this relates to me being a designer, but I think a human body (let's use female as an example) in its purest sense is far more attractive than a human body with a permanent black mark that suddenly garners more attention.

I'd never get one, it's just stupid. I wouldn't mind it, but I think it's pretty pointless. Maybe it'd be cool for a little bit, but then the novelty would wear off and you problably wouldn't like it anymore.

I got my tattoo 2 years ago and it doesn't have the novelty it did then, but its still damn cool. I don't have it to show off, I just got it because I felt really down after getting knocked out in the first round against Boston, I felt really down on the team, I was depressed. So to get my Pacer Pride back in top gear, I went out and got it done. I still love it, and Its just another way to show that I bleed blue and gold.

Picture?

No tattoo's here either, although me and my friend almost bought a piercing kit as we were going through the phase of wanting everything pierced.

Got three in total.

Ones a verse from my dad's poem/sayings/writings book(his own stuff) which wraps around my right bicep written in old english font.
"The City we live in is the city of Los Angeles,
The City we'll die in is the city of Los Angeles,
Angels stay the same, Life and Death has no pain."

Another is a skull with california etched on its forehead and thats on the back of my neck.

Finally I have 'Sic' etched on the inner side of my forearm.

Yeah yeah I know Im being a poser, so what else is new. :)

don't have one because of these reasons:
- parents don't like it
- don't know if I can take the pain
- I'm pretty restless...might be fidgeting or something and I might destroy it
- I get tired of a certain picture easily and might regret something that permanent
- I don't know if I look right with a tattoo

If I ever do get one, I might get some of those pattern thingies...something pretty generic or maybe a dragon...

Tattoos are for jagoffs who will find it hard to be taken seriously when they are 30-40 years old looking for a good job.

But if you want to dedicate your life to crime then tattoos will fit right in with the rapists and hobos in the state prison.

You do realise like 3/4's of NBA players have tattoos and so on for football. Baseball and Hockey's a little less and its rare in Soccer but just cause you have ink doesnt mean you belong in prison or your some sorta criminal.

Your either a total ignoramus or hold prejudice towards people with tattoos cause you've had some sorta an experience with a inked man/woman.

Hard to be taken seriously? Its not like people wear skinnies and shorts to work and show off their ink, or does a job equal helping your folks wash the dishes? Considering your ignorance it most probably does.

I don't have a tattoo nor do I ever want one. I'm not good at making decisions that can never be changed again. In some RPG games for example, I'll make a character, and then I'll be thinking "man, I wish I did this" or "I wish I did that instead" and if I ever got a tattoo, 5 or 6 years later I'll be wishing I didn't get it. What kind of impact does it have anyway? I never saw Kobe (good Kobe) different than Grant Hill just because he had tattoos. I never even pay attention to tattoos.
