Reserves Kyle Korver and Willie Green have agreed to return to the Philadelphia Sixers, a person familiar with the deals said Tuesday.
The contracts cannot officially be announced until Friday under NBA rules. But a person within the league, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the deals for the restricted free agents were in place.
Korver and Green were second-round picks acquired in separate trades on the night of the 2003 draft.
The Sixers declined comment.
Glad that both guys will be coming back, hopefully the numbers aren't too outrageous.

Sixers all the way!

It was a smart move to re-sign these two players. Now it just all depends on how much.
They already seem to making a mistake with Dalembert's new contract, I hope they don't offer these two guys too much, even though they are still young and both are talented.

Now if only the Knicks can take Sammy off our hands by offering him a max contract, we'll be in business

Willie Green needs to move on, he was getting no minutes on the bench. He could be a starter or 6th man elsewhere
Wed Jul 20, 2005 2:25 pm
Willie Green isn't a starter

I read in ESPN that KK contract is about 6 year/30 mil. Doesn't sound so bad, it's a little above average

For those who are saying we overpayed Dalembert, the 70 mil+ rumor that was going around is false. They reported on ESPN.com that the deal Billy King was offering Sammy is really far from the max, and that they aren't close to the deal yet. As for Kyle Korver's contract, it was reported on RealGM that his deal is 25 million for 6 years. It'a kinda big on length but it's a pretty cheap contract, I expect Willie Green to sign for about the same. And as for Willie Green rotting on the bench, I agree that he didn't get the time he deserved last year. But now that Jim O'Brien is gone I expect Green to get more time, and I'm sure he expects it himself.
Now hopefully we can pull off a sign and trade for a starting small foward.

Do you have any ideas for a trade??
Thu Jul 21, 2005 3:28 pm
Whats wrong with Mashburn?
Thu Jul 21, 2005 3:41 pm
He's almost retired. He had injuries when he was with the Hornets. I'm not sure, but I think it was in his knees and back
Thu Jul 21, 2005 7:53 pm
cool, i especially like Green, i think hes extremely underrated because he doesnt get alotta playing time behing the AIs but everytime he was given the chance to start (cause of Iverson being injured) he was kind of a leader on the court showing that hes a really good scorer.
its always good to have Kyle Korver on your team. i hope hes able to improve his defense this summer. if he does there shouldnt be any doubts about him starting.

They don't have any semblance of cap space to do that. Unless they agree with the Sixers on a sign-and-trade, which probably means you'll have to take on some undersized PFs...

And I'm pretty sure the Knicks filled their C spot with Jerome James.

With emphasis on 'filled'. James can you be you backup C at best. And you can forget about that if you just gave him a lucrative 5-year contract, which Knicks did.
