If they actually DO manage to bring Scola as well... well, it's all over for the other 29 teams. :D

Scola would be a huge signing. That guy can flat out play... I agree with Dweaver, may aswell give them the trophy if they bring him in.

**DISCLAIMER** Knowing my luck Scola will blow in the NBA, but still

Let's just say that if Luis Scola was 22 and playing like he has been the last couple of years, He'd be a Top 3 pick in this year's draft.

No disrespect to others, but I thought american players were ahead of everybody as far as basketball is concerned.

Streetball, maybe. 5-0n-5 on a hardwood, it's not that big of a difference.

If it works, it will be a GREAT addition to the Spurs!
Oberto, maybe Scola and Manu in the same team, taht's an NBA championship right there.

Er...funny thing to say when the current NBA champions 3 best players are all non-Americans.

[Virgin Islands are US territory, but they are self governing and do not vote for the President...and they definitely have a different culture, probably the most important aspect]

Yet the best players overall in the league are:
Shaq, KG, LeBron, Wade, Duncan.

They're all American except T-D. However, the US did lose in the olympics. HAHAH!
Bored.

Shaq and KG did not play in the Olympics.
And your list is wrong. Put Kobe over Wade.(as much as i dislike kobe he can hit 3s unlike wade) Oh yeah Kobe didn't play either.

Well word in Argentina (by Oberto Himself), is he already signed.
Thats Great another great player with lot of experience (a 29 years old "rookie")
I dont think he can play Center in NBA though. but definitly will be starter (PF ???), he is the kind of player POPO will love

ALSO he is still really Mad with MARBURY, cause Stephon broke his fingers in the Olimpics

Shit, the Spurs are a smart, smart team. And it's not even Scola. I thought it was Scola when Dweaver said "Another Argentinean in San Antonio." I want to see Scola play in the NBA

i just saw some clips of him from the olympics on the local news... im very impressed and happy that hes gonna be a spur, :) . he had a good block on duncan when he tried making a layup, and it showed 2 awesome dunks (1 a put back dunk). the sports guys on the news also said that oberto is ginobilis best friend and that he could have played for many other teams but chose the spurs because of their winning record.

i dont think hes gonna be starting at the beginning of the season... he may be an energy booster like ginobili was for a long time off the bench; but he may be worked in the starting lineup in the future. i think that mohammed will keep the C position for now, although oberto may get more minutes depending on how well he plays.

Shit, the Spurs are a smart, smart team.

-the spurs just have very good scouters... although they lost their head guy-lance blanks (he along with other former spurs related people joined the cavs organ.)

Regarding Scola:

"Scola might not be able to reach the NBA until his contract expires in three years.

His buyout with Tau Ceramica is a whopping $14.5 million.

Because of this, it is also possible the Spurs will trade his rights but the buyout could scare teams away
"

14.5 MILLION DOLLARS!?!?!?!?!?!? I want his rights....
