That All-Star Game was one of the best in recent years.

Frankly. Marbury is just not that good. He is a good player but in no way is he a superstar or franchise player. He never was nor will he ever be. This is a fine line in the NBA and it seems to be blurred the last few years. Just cause somebody is good does not make them a superstar. 10 Years Ago there were way more people you could call a "superstar". Now it's just over used. There really aren't that many. A superstar is a winner not just soemone who can dunk.

yeah.. marbury is not even one of the top PGs in the league, he is a real cancer to any team. in a league with nash, wade, kidd and andre miller you can´t say marbury is a superstar (all of those are better than him IMO).

I think he meant the time when Iverson won MVP, and Marbury was hitting those three pointers to keep the East in the cluctch.
Marbury's a very good player, but he screws up the team's offense, historically.

Yeah, but that was classic Marbury. Dribble up, ignore everyone else, take a shot. He even shot one with two people on him...and four other All-Stars on the floor.
When he makes those shots, it's great. But usually he misses him.

He's quite a character. I love the message he sends to all the kids: be a complete ball-hog like myself and drive your team to the bottom of the standings, cuz that's how you get $22M a year.

you would think that some day, these basketball higher ups will actually learn that just cause someone can score a boat load every now and then, they are not a great player. who cares if you can drop 45 a night if you make everyone around you worse.

lol is marbs the antoine walker of the forum?
sure marbury isn't a 'franchise type' player. but he can be important contributor on a winning team
some people easily forget about that 2002 phx team. or had that 2003 suns team not gotten off to slow start/have injuries, marbury doesn't get traded.
Mon Jul 11, 2005 5:18 am
thats the problem gordan. put him on a winning team and they dont win anymore. everytime a team trades him they instantly do better. i think isiah only took him so he could later trade him and get a big boost in wins the following season.
Mon Jul 11, 2005 4:41 pm
what winning team started losing when he arrived?
