That's a very classy move by Allen. Good to see him sticking with Seattle (y) Let's see if they can get McMillan to stick around, and if I'm not mistaken, a couple other guys.

Ray Ray wouldn't have re-signed if he didn't already know McMillan was going to be back. That's my guess.

I think Ray Allen is a good fit in Sonics. He did a good job to get the Sonics to the playoffs last season. I also like to see Nate McMillan back.

oh well I guess its PP trade talk time.

Good luck to Ray....although the Sonics need to add a true post player desperately if they want to really go for the title.

I wouldn't of expected him to leave Seattle. Got a great deal and he's what the Sonics always needed. A deadly SG.

Good. That means Cavaliers can't sign him and they'll go after younger players.

Redd will go to the Cavs :P The only reason the Bucks can pay him more is cause they can offer him that extra year.

That's 20 million dollars more.... Would you turn away from that amount of money to join LeBron and go to your home state...? I would not.

24mil i heard, regardless that's a crap load of money haha... lol why doesn't milwaukee have a head coach yet?

seattle prolly does need a true post scorer but hey, they seemed to do pretty well even in the playoffs.

lewis probably right now is their best post player and there is still collison & jerome james (and his garbage bag) developing.

who knows? maybe if radman & lewis are healthy, the spurs get a run for their money

Their offense is predicated on screens, double screens, and outside-inside movement. Seattle can get plenty of points in the paint off easy dunks...they just don't do it with back to the basket post play.

Their offense is virtually the same as Illinois' except the screen cuts attack the paint as well as the 3 point line.

Most experts said the same about both teams...yet both teams went pretty far against all expectations.

What they do need in their big men is defense & rebounding and the abiliity to finish assists...not necessarily playmakers.

Maybe Redd would, maybe.... depends whether he wants to be a sidekick and have a high possibility of winning the championship, or if he wants to stay in mediocrity and be the main guy.

Good news for Seattle's future, though it's a shame McMillan is moving on. It's rare to see a player spend so long with an organisation in so many capacities, Al Attles being an exception with the Warriors.

Now that he has his fat paycheck, he'll revert back to the good but not great player he was.

Not sure what you mean there. Ray's always been Ray, regardless of contract or team.

He delivers effectively without forcing the issue 1 on 1 and coughing the ball up like most playmakers, and really steps it up another notch in the playoffs. You're not going to get 50 from Ray, but you're also not going to get 13 TOs either...and he will embarass people come April.

Bucks:
99-00: 22.1 ppg
00-01: 22.0 ppg
01-02: 21.8 ppg

Seattle:
02-03: 22.5 ppg
03-04: 23.0 ppg
04-05: 23.9 ppg

Playoffs: 37 games: 24.9 ppg, .476 FG% .453 3P% 4.8 apg

TOs: 2.19

Bryant: 4.09
Wade: 4.17
Iverson: 4.59
LeBron: 3.28

Not to mention, he still does all this while allowing enough touches to allow Rashard Lewis to develop into an All-Star. I haven't seen anyone develop into an all-star under Bryant.

Don't have a fit just yet, bringing up Bryant wasn't a great idea given he's only played without Shaq for one season only. Let him get the hang of being the sole "star" and I'm sure he'll realise that he has to make others better.

Btw, Ray is no where near Bryant. Ray doesn't make Lewis all that great, Lewis is good on his own. That's like saying Bryant makes Odom the way he is.

Actually, Ray is better than Bryant, because his team won more games and went deeper into the playoffs...that's the definition of success for 5 on 5 basketball: winning games.

Until Kobe wins without Shaq, he'll go down in history as another Bernard King. King's scoring accomplishments are equal to Kobe's. King averaged 25.8 as a rookie. He lead the league in scoring 1 year with 32.9 ppg. He would perform feats like dropping 60 on NJ, and next time they played he dropped 55 on them. He had multiple 50+ games back to back. And he wasn't just chucking up bad shots, he shot over .500 for 7 years.

However, nobody remembers Bernard King, because he didn't win.
