Photoshop Section: Suggestions

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I don't see why not the photoshop poll. I also see no reason to hide post count, the milestone threads for certain post counts are fun.

Good idea, Jackal. So the more veteran posters will get a title that indicates it (Y)

Any progress on this? I think the poll results are pretty clear, but I'm not sure how long you (Andrew) had intended to run the poll?

ps. I think someone should make Andrew a nice signature too. :)

Pff, no matter how much that sig kicks ass, it doesn't hide the fact that image sigs are completely useless and overrated.

I do intend to add it, I've just been a bit busy the last few days with some job interviews and a trial run yesterday. It'll be part of the general section very soon.

Have to admit, it's tempting. Wouldn't want you to have wasted all that effort. ;)

I just looked here and I also think it's a good idea. We've basically just posted all our graphics and stuff in there, and requests get lost very easily.

The Photoshop Lounge is open and ready for business. Any suggestions for rules and procedure in that area (especially regarding signature requests), please post them here. (Y)

Thanks, I appreciate this new section. I like to show my stuff and see what people think and most of all learn from the photoshop experts around here.

I'm not sure how to do this, is it ok to create a thread like "ck's photoshop work" or something like that?

I recon that would be the best way to go, rather than having regulars creating new toppics all the time. (y)

This was a great idea... I just got Photoshop, so it's helpful for learning new techniques (especially for future patches)

Hmm, maybe we should make a cyberface thread there
Ppl could post their bheds there, get tips, suggestions etc.
I wouldn't mind showing of my bheds :)

Patching Issues?

Anyway, maybe we should make a rule for in the 'request a signature' thread like that requests have to be in a specific format eg.

Code: Select all
text:
links to pictures:
preferred colors:
size (500x100 max.):

...something like that, just to keep it more organised.
Also make a rule not to bump your request, (Y)/(N) ?

That would be a good idea, maybe something like-

Code: Select all
Text:
Picture(s) Wanted: Lebron dribbling
Preferred Colors: Red and Black, Yellow...
Particular Theme/Style: Tech, Grunge, Abstract...
Anything not Wanted: Polka dots, stripes...

I think the size is already covered, 450x100 is too long, most of us here make them 400x100.

I'd say that there should be a rule on how soon you can bump it. Give it maybe 3 days, and if someone hasn't made it by then and you have followed all the rules, you can politely bump the request.

I also think it should be an "unwritten" rule that once you make a request, you don't make another for a while. I know that all of us that do requests take time and energy to do our sigs, we're not sig making machines. If anyone else here thinks these are good ideas, I'll start a poll in the PS section.

Those sound like fine ideas to me. Perhaps it would be appropriate to start a new request sticky with the rules in the first post.

I'd rather see it balance out to like 400x130. Getting some pictures to fit in a 100 height sig is hard. I think the sweet spot is 360x130.
