CLEVELAND, June 28 – The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired the rights to forward/center Martynas Andriuskevicius (mar-TEE-nas on-droos-KE-vee-choos) from the Orlando Magic in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft and cash, Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry announced today.
So I guess this means Big Z is staying so he can help Little Z out. Hes still years away from being able to play in the league but could be future for the Cavs, now if only they can get Ray or Redd.
Just boosted the Bulls chance to keep Curry or the Knicks chance to get him.

Curry's a restricted free agent though, so their improvement and success this season aisde the Bulls were already in a good position to retain his services.

No More Mr.-Overrated-Shooter Jiri too.

Yea.... amazingly, he doesn't even have a "z" in his name, which is like a hundred letters long.

He's now officially re-nicknamed: "Lanky-A"

I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe they're both from Lithuania?

i think They are both from Lithuania

They definitely are.

I thought that was already a given
Add Arvydas Sabonis, Sarunas Marculionis and Vitalyi Potapenko and potentially Sarunas Jasikevicius as of next year and we have a an NBA feeder country already...

Haha, indeed. But then again, I hail from Greece, so I'm not really a stranger to that...
BTW, Cy, what happened to your much-anticipated 2000-post thread?
Thu Jun 30, 2005 2:17 pm

Naw, I don't do shoutouts, but after seeing how nice and fun Indy's and Jackal's was, I'm thinking of doing one for my 3000th... stay tuned.

There is a God.
Anyways anyone who expects Andriuskevius to do anything whatsoever in the next 4 years is kidding themselves. The guy can barely stay on his feet on a basketball court, how is he going to tolerate the NBA.

Vitalyi Potapenko is from Ukraine not from Lithuania.

Ah, yes, my mistake... surprisingly no one noticed it before... How could I forget "The Ukraine Train"?
have any other Lithuanians cracked the NBA other than the 3-4 I mentioned, A.G. ?
Fri Jul 01, 2005 2:19 am
I think you didn't mention D. Songaila.

I think you didn't mention D. Songaila.
Ah, yes, another blunder on my part... Loosk like my international basketball knowledge is waning... Time to hit the web again...
So, I heard talk that Jasikevicius might be joining Ilgauskas and Lanky-A in Cleveland... What are you hearing over there?
Fri Jul 01, 2005 7:33 pm
I think the reason the Cleveland got him is just in case they can't sign Z. Maybe Z gets all big headed and wants a lot of money, I think the Cleveland should put everything they have on the table to get a stellar shooting guard to go along with great contributors, because if Lebron James doesn't make the playoff next season, he will be demanding a trade (most likely) - Vince Carter's syndrome my friends
