Just a little things...

Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Just a little things...

Postby tadone on Sat Jun 25, 2005 4:20 am

After seeing those little videos from EA website I've noticed some things that I think will drive me crazy in NBA Live 2006:

1. Still when u pass to the post it takes like forever for PF or C to catch the ball and do any kind of move and by the time u can do something the ball get striped.
2. It seems like a team defense is just not existing, u can just dribble between guards and go straight to the hoop.
3. There will be no real post play, the power player like Shaq and Amare will get the ball down low and just dunk it 8 out of 10 times. No hooks like Tim (MVP) Duncan does, no fade away jumpers (Rasheed), just throwing it down.
4. Off course there will be skating, they should call it "NBA Live On Ice"
5. I bet there will be no half court game with great plays that can get your guard open. I would love to do just simple and effective play when RIP get GOOD screen and get open for just a sec to nail that jumper.

I play this game for so long now that sometimes I just can not believe that after so many years no one sees thos little things that are obvious and annoy the hell out of me.
Despite all that, I will be probably one of the first who get the game :)

What they really need to fix is how freaking Yao Ming can block my shot, and my player looks up in the air for no reason while Yao Ming gets the freaking ball and beats the POINT gaurd down the court. That gets so annoying how just by being taller you can have 8 blocks a game. I average about 6 with Lebron James just because he is taller than most shooting gaurds. Quit worrying about the graphics because the graphics will always be getting better. Stop talking about the mesh holes in the jerseys and start discussing the real issuses in the game. That's exactly how the NBA 2k series was messed up because the fourms were always worried about the little things. Yea the little things help but it doesn't make the game.

Totally agreed! I'm also afraid of a Live 06 without any real post moves.

I read that the players 'skating' is necessary for fluid gameplay unless you want to wait 1-2 secs for every direction change just for it to be realistic.

I searched for it but wasn't able to find it anymore, unfortunately. However I remember it being posted here somewhere ,it may be an IGN article/interview ,but I don't remember for sure.

I did come across an article on gamefaqs.com where the author said something about skating ,which is not really linked to what I've said previously, but ehh:

'Gameplay:
My biggest gripe with gameplay this year is that there were a few things from the last few years that were never fixed.
1) Ice Skating: The players still skate across the court as if this is the NBA on ice. It makes the game when the players run up and down the court like it’s the NHL. Finally, this was addressed by the development team in an interview. The problem lies with the engine. I think EA it’s time for an upgrade.'
