Bah, youth... no respect... anyways, you all know you'r egoing to miss the big fella... I know I will.
Fare thee well, Shawn, hope you don't disappear on to a religious conversion mission in the jungle or anything...
Fri Jun 24, 2005 4:46 pm
i hope he saves this in his cellphone memory......reminds him of the guy who last dunk on him
nah i'm just messing:
yer right DW everyone should respect anyone even if he is remembered for all his short comings...mostly the respect just came in during funerals, which is IMO rather too late..well bradley has already made millions and my bet is secured for life...wonder how tall were his children were?

For the sake of 56k users, please don't post animated gifs that are around 860 kb unless it's just a link...and once was probably enough.

its funny... Shawn Bradley.. i remeber using him in NBA Live 04 alongside Yao Ming.. those two pwned!
Fri Jun 24, 2005 5:10 pm
I still use him to this day, he steals and blocks everything! Kinda sad he got dunked on so much but I gotta hand it to the guy, he had a heart for the game.

Mark Cuban is probably so happy that he can clear 3 million out of the 100 million or something of player salaries. Now...if he can only get Tariq Abdul Wahad to retire. (He is STILL in the Mavs roster, collecting 7 Million a year for doing even less than Darko! Life is so unfair...)

I bet 99% of people in this thread would probably go home and cry and never touch a basketball again if they got dunked on in front of millions of people.

I don't think so,being crossed over, blocked or dunked on is part of the game and even if it may be embarrassing for some it's not a big deal, just happens.
Fri Jun 24, 2005 11:07 pm
Then why are people making such a gigantic deal about Bradley being dunked on alot. It's part of the game, he's the tallest player in the NBA so obviously he's going to be a target for ego driven guards and athletic high flyers.

Jim Rome bashed Bradley on today's show
He said something about one thing Bradley will be missed for and that's the high flyers dunking on him. Then he start naming other peoeple that would probably be other targets and he mentioned Greg Ostertag

I have avoided coming into this thread because i knew it would be full of Bradley bashing and people talking about him getting dunked on and bullshit like that.
I'm glad to see D-Weaver, Andrew and Jae come to his defense.
You guys pretty much covered it all, but I just wanted to say the guy had fuckin balls. He was bashed by everyone and their mom but he just smiled and took the punches (metaphorical punches) and went out there and played his game. Props to Shawn Bradely I'll always remember #76.

You'd need a stool to sock his cock.

He's actually the closest guy I've been to meeting an NBA player. Many years ago, I had a Penny Hardaway website, and I happened to meet Shawn Bradley's foster sister via e-mail, and she kept telling me about him, and I didn't believe her. She said she'd mail me his card and autograph, and I actually got his card and a photo of him shooting a free throw in practice, both autographed. Funniest moment, though, was when I showed her a link to a video clip of Penny Hardaway dunking over Shawn Bradley. According to her, he was pissed

The big guy was actually a good defender when he was younger, still to this day had a high steal rating..even though he was posterized a lot he blocked a majority of dunk attempts too..people dont look at that stuff... like how many times Babe Ruth struck out..

That's a pretty cool story

... lucky it wasn't his biological sister though, she'd probably be about 6'10.

ROFL
Thats hilarious lol, hes suprisingly been blocked so many times
Sat Jun 25, 2005 5:07 pm
Not one of his finer moments, to say the least.
Sat Jun 25, 2005 6:57 pm
It's kinda sad... His career averages aren't that bad...
C'mon, he led the league twice in blocking...
Sat Jun 25, 2005 7:56 pm
He fouled the hell out of him on that play, but it was still cool.
Sat Jun 25, 2005 9:07 pm
Ha, I saw Patrick Ewing getting blocked once by Mugsy Bogues... nothing can top that...

Actually it wasn't a foul, Watson's block was all ball, but Shawn Bradley didn't let go so he fell, sounds clumsy but yeah that's what he is.
