SAS are at home for the last 2 but Detroit plays very well when they're down and SAS get complacent when they're ahead.

Both teams are behaving very par for the course...but if i had to bet money it would be on SAS w/ home court advantage.

as i said in another thread, the pistons are most likely psychologically drained and have low spirits after losing that game; going against the home crowd, it will be very hard to win. horry was really pissing me off in the 2nd & 3rd quarter though-he got 3 defensive fouls when trying to draw charges and 1 was made by billups. wtf is horry trying to draw a charge against billups?! he should be trying to block his shot... but his big plays at the end of the game made up for the bad plays earlier.

Tim Duncan was dissapointing however.. if he DUNKED THE DAMN BALL instead of trying to tip it back in.. both Wallaces were over with Ginobili, if he just went STRONG FOR ONCE.. be AGGRESSIVE... be SHAQ....

Only because he appeared to think he didn't have time to do anything but tip it due to the game clock and the amount of time Manu had the ball in his hand. I think he wasn't aware of how much and took a chance by trying to tap it in. It wasn't much time on the clock when the ball came off nor was there much before the play on court began from the inbound. He played aggressive the entire game so I can live with that. Hit the Free Throws and the game would have been over in regulation.

This was easily the best game of the series for the fan without allegiance to either team (though I picked the Spurs to win and seeing as I've had a better year with predictions this season, I'd like to get the biggest series right too), a battle right down to the end of regulation and then in OT. Just the kind of game I was hoping for in Game 5, especially after the first four games were decided by an average of 20+ points.

San Antonio were really fortunate to get this one with the way Duncan was playing down the stretch. Duncan remains one of the best players in the league, maybe even the best, but he had so many chances to close the door in regulation and he blew them. Still, he had 26 and 19 for the game so it's not as though he struggled, but in the final quarter he just didn't deliver.

Fortunately for the Spurs, Robert Horry did. That was a really awesome display to watch, capped off by that emphatic dunk and the game-winning three after the timeout. Fantastic performance by Horry, really enjoyable to watch.

Detroit's hardly down and out, but now the advantage of the 2-3-2 format is back with San Antonio. I picked the Spurs in six before the series, right now I wouldn't be too surprised if the series went the distance but I don't think the Spurs will lose two straight at home. Whatever happens, I hope the rest of the series is as fun to watch as this one was.

Actually, you're the one who's mistaken. The first four games were decided by an average of 21 points.

Game 1: 15 points
Game 2: 21 points
Game 3: 17 points
Game 4: 31 points

Total difference = 84
84/4 = 21

Factor in Game 5, and the average difference is 17. But I said through the first four games, so I was correct in my statement.

no doubt but Detroit is hte most mentally tough team in the NBA and now they have thier backs to the wall which is a time they play their best. Add to the fact the SAS can crumble quickly (losing 4 straight to LA last year., allowing T-Mac 13pnts in 35 secs) and you have yourselves an unpredictable series.

I see this going 7. If it does go 7, only after Game 6 we can make the predictions.

most points in a overtime was 15 by boykins if i'm not mistaken.
NBA.com meant 21 points after halftime. incidentally, it was the most points scored in a finals game after scoring 0 point during the 1st half.

Sometimes I wonder where Rasheed's head is. He almost pulled a Chris Webber by calling a timout. His lack of focus is what keeps him from being a great player.

That loss was killer for Detroit. Had they won, up 3-2, I'd pick them in seven. But asking them to beat the Spurs twice on their homecourt is too much to ask.

LMAO! Just like when they interviewed Horry, he said there are too many people that take the game too serious and when he go out there, he just have fun. I guess you can say that's why he has so much success and that's a good way to think and not be so serious about the game. Awesome, Robert Horry is simply a.w.e.s.o.m.e. That's it, that's what he is, awesome. I doubt I've jumped that high after a shot outside of a Lakers series. (Namely his shot against the King of Queens & the Kings. And ofcourse, Fisher's 0.4 seconds.)

Watched the game yesterday - that was an intense, close game, a great one. Haven't seen that in a while.. but man, Robert Horry saved Tim Duncan's ass. He was sensational, and I didn't think he'd hit that last 3 pointer, but as always, I underestimate him. He's such clutch, it's crazy, after seeing what he did to other teams over the years. I think I'll stop rambling.
