Looks like Lakers are going to keep Butler too, then how the hell are they going to make trade??? George for Peja??? Grant for Boozer?
Cant believe it...

Interesting. Phil wants to play Butler at the guard and give hime some of the ball-handling duties. Someone should tell him that his idea sucks and his mother blows toads for cash. Butler has actual (point) guard skills? While Phil's at it, he could move Sasha to center and Chucky to back-up SF. I will call this little experiment 'forced sodomy'. It fits right in.Borderline, this disaster will be incredibly rewarding just to watch.

Yeah, that's as crazy as Scottie Pippen playing the point.
Butler's ball-handling is far better than Scottie's was when he got to the Bulls.

i think Butler is more suited as a SG since i first saw him play in college and in Heat.
I love the idea of keeping Butler to play both guard position.

I think it's worth a try,I could picture Butler being a PG.

Smart move on keeping Butler. Butler has such great potential, but I see him more as a more rebound-oriented SF/SG rather than a point guard dishing the ball.

Anyone thought Ron Harper could actually play point back in the Bulls' second three-peat era? No.
So let's give it time and judge according to results...

I think Phil knows wat he is doing and after all the lakers did give him 10M/yr to make decisions. And he also got 9 rings, so lets see.

Well, I wouldn't start saying that the idea sucks just yet.... Phil doesn't exactly have much to work with... so its worth a shot.

What are you talking about? Have you ever seen Scottie Pippen play? I think this is a great idea by Phil.

Its not a bad nor great idea by Phil. I guess it should be a good experiment though. He doesnt even know if its going to work!

Scottie Pippen had court vision, passing ability and could dribble the ball. Caron can't do none of these things.

Pat Riley said the same thing about Butler and tried him at point also.
2 great coaches with the same idea, it must be true

I'm liking the idea very much. He is 6'6 and if he turns out to be a good PG mesh with SF/SG skills it would be great to see

plus he'd be a lot taller than most PGs in the league and that's already an advantage for him.

You say than when the trio of Odom, Bryant and Butler is playing against 76'ers, Butler is going to guard Iverson? Not gonna happen. Bryant would have to do it - but not only against Phila but also against other teams with quick PG's. That would wear him down and he wouldn't be giving his 100% at the offensive end.

Did it work? I guess not.

They drafted Wade before they gave it a real chance obviously
