Now, that's hardcore.
I'm sorry for this guy, 'cause I really liked his work. Well, he definitely has the potential to be next Chad Ford

My email is jonathangivony@hotmail.com if anyone wants to get in touch. I can't talk too much about the case, still looking into my options and trying to figure out exactly what happened over the past few days, but I can say that:
1) I stand by what I wrote. What was written on DraftCity the other day is a 100% lie, and a very ugly one at that.
2) I do have sources that told me what I wrote and much more, but the number one rule in journalism is that you do not reveal your sources and I am sticking by that. I never really had the opportunity to do so anyway in a way that would have saved me or the site, so this is a moot point. If this ever did go to court, though, (I still have no idea what is going on with this to this day) all these people would be there in court to say exactly what happened.
3) If this thing went to court, we never would have lost. In fact, there is no chance this ever would have gone to court. Prerak made it very clear from the very start that he just does not care about DraftCity and is willing to do whatever it takes, stabbing everyone in the back who has put hundreds of hours of their time and thousands of dollars of their own money into the site included, to get himself out of this. There were a thousand things he could have done differently to help him save his personal integrity, let him sleep easier at night, keep the site alive temporarily, or not screw so many people over the way he did, but he panicked and took the easiest option available for him, with zero regard whatsoever to anyone else besides himself in the most selfish and self serving way possible. That's fine though. In six months no one outside of realgm will remember that guy's name, and we'll be right back where we were and in even better shape most likely. Don't worry about us. We learned our lesson here and the response will be swift and emphatic.
4) We'll be back and very soon. All writers from DraftCity are either leaving (just one who never did much anyway) or coming with us, so you basically won't be losing anything in terms of draft coverage once this happens.
5) RealGM stripped me of my moderatorship duties because I asked Howard Mass if he would be willing to put all of DraftCity up on RealGM's server. At that time (and still to this day) the details of what would have been involved should this have happened were very preliminary. It was more of a general inquiry into the option of keeping DraftCity alive temporarily until the draft is over. I never made any promises and from the very start prefered to probably go with Hoopshype if they agreed to it. I had nothing to hide and gave Howard Prerak's number in order to talk about this and see if its even an option. Prerak himself even advised me to do this. This was a frantic, two minute long conversation conducted in the middle of an SFX workout in Chicago right after I was told in very little detail of what's going on, so I guess there was some miscommunication about what happened here. For some reason Howard says I lied to him about something (he still won't tell me what) in that conversation and therefore decided to take away my mod duties. I really don't care about that, I just wanted to let you guys know what happened here. I can live without being a mod at realgm, because I have bigger things to worry about.
6) Karma is a b!tch.
7) We still all managed to have a great time in Chicago, even if we got only about a dozen hours of sleep over the past 4 days.
icon_cool.gif I have already received over half a dozen offers from various internet sites, professional media outlets, and even one NBA team to start working for them immediately (besides the team I already consult for) and help them with their draft coverage. I am sticking by my plan to finish up my degree first, though. I thought that Prerak managed to tarnish my name by doing this, but I guess that all that happened was that this made me that much more recognizable in the draft world and a whole lot more curious about the site, the work we do, and what happened a few months ago. We are all going to bounce back and land right on our feet, so don't worry about us.
9) What went down over the past few days was very sad and petty, but what goes around comes around and you can not keep a good man down.
10) I had no idea just how big DraftCity was until a million people called me, either approached me at Moody Bible (including many extremely important figures who I never would have dreamed of knowing about us), called me, emailed me etc to offer their condolences, tell us how much they love DraftCity, ask what happened and how they can help out. I am starting to think that this was actually a blessing in disguise.
11) Thank you all for all your support. I can not tell you how much this means to me. There are obviously still some human beings out there in this world and everything will turn out to be fine at the right time and place.
