I really can't see him in LA again, I really just can't. Forget his girlfriend and the location, but the fact he's going to be coaching Kobe Bryant? I can't see Phil going through 82 games or more with that guy.

I'd love to see him in a different team than LA. Like Cy said, I also can't see him coaching Kobe "The Cock" Bryant.
Preparation will only take you so far. After that you've got to take a few leaps of faith.

I'd love for him to come back to LA, I think he's the only one capable of handling Bryant at the moment. Other coaches will have to get to know him & go thru the whole process, Jackson already knows how Bryant is.

A week ago I would have agreed with you, but now it seems almost inevitable. If I were him I wouldn't be so keen to return (unless he's going to get more control over roster moves or a lot more money or possibly both) having been cast aside the way he was.

As I've said before, I find that quite arrogant of the Lakers organisation, to halt contract negotiations last year, say "We're going in a new direction" and then want Phil back after they go 34-48 and miss the playoffs. But I suppose if both sides can set aside the differences and move on, more power to them.

What's wrong with Kobe, he is one of best perimeter players in the game, he has the right to be cocky. That guys makes almost 20 millions a year for a reason! He is a great basketball player, people like him because his skills, who cares about if he's a good person or not, I mean if he is just some regular guy on the street with a bad personality, I would hate him just like everybody else does, but he's no common man, he's a basketball pro.

Wow!!
did i used to sound like that??
if i did i apologise!

heres something mate, Kobes not a God, hes a great basketball player yes, but hes gotta put his ego to one side and listen to a guy who has coached one of the greatest of all-time and has 9 rings(3 Kobe helped to get of course).

IMO, if these 2 can get on the same page, i say watch out to the rest of the NBA :D

I mean if he is just some regular guy on the street with a bad personality, I would hate him just like everybody else does, but he's no common man, he's a basketball pro.

Thats the thing mate, he is just a regular guy, with a talent for basketball.

like i said hes not a god, he cant cure cancer or cure world hunger or nothing :P

*Standing Ovation to that*

I couldn't agree more. Kobe is just a regular dude with a talent. Hell everyone is a normal dude. We all got our own talents. Cyanides mom does something special with her tongue. See what I mean.

Jackson must be doing something right if he's got 9 Championship rings. I'm sure wherever he chooses to coach is the cool. He's a smart dude...with a TALENT... coaching.

According to that person's logic, because he's a superstar it's all right to have a superinflated ego?

LeBron James is a great player, how come his ego isn't that big? How about Duncan? He seems to be the most normal person in basketball despite being the number 1 or 2 player of the league.

Hang on a minute Jackal
i reckon Lebron has a huge Ego, just in the way he swaggers about himself.

hes only 20, still hasnt come out of shell yet, just watch..........."The King" remarks, all the endorsements, the love for him and especially the money n fame, it will all goto his head sooner or later.

I think it's normal and somewhat forgiveable to be have an inflated ego when you're young. Kobe is still pretty young, so is LeBron.

If Kobe acts like a spoiled kid in his 30s then he's got issues.

It's possible... but Iverson showed that he really stepped up and matured these days, so we'll see if Kobe does the same, but as for his ego, I don't think it can be tamed.

This season, Kobe just didn't get it. By that, I mean he didn't understand that as the Man, he's gotta realize that there's four other yellow jerseys on the court with him. The Lakers don't need him to rack up triple doubles in order to win.

This guy is a great talent, arguably the best in the league. But he's still learning. Jordan didn't get it right away. It took Phil Jackson for him to realize that he's gotta elevate the play of his teammates to elevate his own play.

Hopefully for Kobe, Phil will come back and set him straight.

Well Duncans just a champion mate, a natural born leader. but you could see that as soon as he came into the league, by his attitude straight away, never showed emotion(though at times a leader should do, and well he does) never really looked down at other players(he is 7 feet yes, so hes always looking down to guys, but still u get me  ).

I've never really put TD down, but Mr. Fundamental is one of the best leaders and players in the NBA.
TD is a perfect example of how a leader should act.
