That's a very risky prop for the Bucks, Odom is a good player but he's paid like a franchise player. Redd will get his money, and that leaves one of the league's poorest teams with 2 long term huge contracts. It pretty much means that the Buck's franchise will be built on Odom in the paint, since they won't be able to afford a quality big man free agent ( i mean look at how much Adonal Foyle makes...).

Odom's contract is much less of a big deal to the Lakers, who can take his contract, Kobe's and a few others without blinking.

Are they willing to gamble that only Odom in the paint is their future? Hmmm.

I meant that Lakers should trade for Bogut but they still need a PG...

they have a PG. his name is kobe bryant
he also plays C, PF, SF, SG, GM, head coach, assistant coach.

no, in all seriousness i think the lakers need a decent point guard before a big man. mihm, odom and grant aren't bad. i really hope jason kidd goes to the lakers.. jesus he would do wonders

I also agree that Kobe is basically the PG on offense, he is their playmaker. He handles the ball, drives, or dishes; it's his decision. Kobe is going to matchup against a SG/SF on D so the PG position would be ideally filled with an athletic guy who can stop opposing PGs.

Not sure how Paul, Deron, and Felton are on defense. Deron is certainly the biggest & strongest, but probably the least likely to fall as far as the Laker's pick.

While i'm sure the Laker's wouldn't pass up on a talent like Kidd, since he's also a playmaker he'll probably run into the same problems that Payton had with touches & playtime, but even more so.

I don't think that would be a good match for Kidd.

Bryant is ball-dominating, more of a half-court player

That eliminates the fastbreak, which erases Kidd's transition game, which is the reason Kidd was head and shoulders better than every PG in the league.

Plus, to get out the West, u need a capable low post scorer(Spurs) and/or a run and gun squad(Suns).

Kidd would'nt make that much of a difference. :(

Kidd would make a difference. I think Bryant could live with not dominating the ball for the first three quarters as long as he's given the chance to shine. Kidd makes players shine, with his tempo he'd make Bryant look fantastic. Bryant could dominate when the game is on the line.

It'd be a nice fit I think, it won't happen I thinks.

Wow I agree with Jackal! Now who woulda thought that? Anyway Bryant and Kidd would get along great and so would Butler and Kidd. Bryant is much more comfortable playing defense in the first three quarters scoring only when it's easy and taking over in the fourth if he needs to. That would be a deadly trio if it ever happened.

Oh and maes Odom doesn't make as much as Brian Grant, Paul Pierce, Antoine Walker or Ray Allen so how can you say he makes franchise player money?

its not so much that kobe needs the ball to dominate. he's shown that playing with shaq he can play off the ball and execute the catch and shoot, backdoor lobs, baseline cuts, etc. he's a great player with an all around game so not dominating with the ball shouldn't be a problem. it's simple, jason kidd makes his teammates better -- just look at vince carter. if he can make vince carter look this damn good, just imagine what it'd be like if he was playing with kobe. imo the only reason why kobe dominates the ball so much in the final quarter is to pad up his stats.. plain and simple. im not a hater im just stating the truth

He *can* execute beautifully off the ball, quite honestly Kobe *can* do anything he wants. He stopped doing that about 2 years ago. He can play amazing defense, he stopped playing D quite as hard. At one point he was a candidate for DPOY, now he didn't even make the 2nd all-defense team.

I think it's irrelevant to Laker's management, they dropped Shaq so Kobe could take over the team, nobody sees the Lakers handing the keys of the team to Kidd.

Can't compare Ray's salary today with Odom's today, because Odom is at the early part of his contract Ray's is at the end. When Odom is at the end of his contract, he'll be making $14.56 M. Ray Allen, at the end of his contract is making $14.62 M, pretty close if you ask me. Kidd makes $14.79M, Marubry makes $14.6, AI makes $14.6. It's franchise level.

Heck, even just next year Odom makes $11.4 M, Vince Carter makes $12.5 M.

I guess i could see that, but how far could the Lakers get.
If anything Kidd is a short term answer, if that (that injury is a b@#!h...)

Kidd would'nt bring the Lakers to anything more than a first round series win and out.(hard to get far without a decent big man)

I don't think bringing a Kidd over is a good solution to the Lakers mediocracy. After all they have lots of holes to filled lol. You can not bring too many superstars into one team because they will eventually collapse. If I were the lakers I would bring another big name or just let/hope for Caron Butler to develop into the All-Star caliber player and bring bunch of good/solid role players.

kidd is not the average superstar, he does not demand to shoot.. he only demands the ball to pass it and he gets it due to his position similarly to steve nash.
There is always room for a Jason Kidd or Steve Nash on any team in my opinion

Im not sure if Kidd and Kobe could coexist. Kobe will still be getting his shots and Kidd will bring the ball up but can Kidd stand Kobe's ego?

HOW ABOUT THOSE BUCKS!?
That is the topic right?

They need to go for Bogut...dont waste the pic on a PG. Bogut has some potential and the bucks need a big man most. Either him or that PF from UNC, but id rather chance it on bogut.
This sig was too offensive for the kids.

There's a few exceptions to that rule but I too believe the Bucks should follow that. It would be foolish to ignore trade possibilities at this point, especially if Bogut's stock can get them a great deal, but if I were them I'd keep the pick. No use trading away the #1 in an average-at-best deal.
