I heard several rumors around the internet as to what the Bucks are going to do. The most intriguing had to be the one where there was a scenerio that the Bucks could trade their 1st pick and some role players to the Lakers for Lamar Odom and their 1st round pick( How that could happen, I'll never know). Obviously if this went through the Lakers could get a much sought after big man in Andrew Bogut
Before u bash this idea, consider that there are no can't miss prospects in this draft, but there is so much depth u could get a key role player in just about any draft position.(Case in point, the best shooter in college basketball, not named Reddick, Salim Stoudamire is projected as a second rounder.)
This scenerio works for both teams, Bucks get a reaon for Redd to stick around and Lakers get their savior
I gotta run, but chew on that

Gak, scary thing is me and Jowe just considered this.

That sounds more like something that would come frm the Laker camp. The only way I can see them doing that is if they throw a few large contracts. Maybe Calvin Booth and Joe smith? That would make the money add up.
Hmm I just saw this on
www.hoopshype.com Very interseting:
Harris said having the top pick opens up a lot of options "I don't want to come out and say the Milwaukee Bucks are trading the top pick," he said "But it certainly creates an opportunity for us to look at our roster and at other teams and what they have to do to get the number one pick".
Theres a link but you have to fill out some BS to read the story.
Here it is:

Since the Bucks got the 1st pick and are looking to rebuild, don't you guys agree with me that it's a very big chance that they're gonna get some new uni's?
Cleveland and Denver (ok, 3rd pick) did it.

lol
Their uniforms are HORRIBLE
A new uniform would almost definitely boost their merchandise sales
They could at least be winners off the court
Thu May 26, 2005 3:41 am
The only way I'd ever wear a Bucks jersey is if they draft me.
Thu May 26, 2005 5:12 am
Yeah the Lakers are gonna pull it off and trade Odom and their 1st pick for the Bucks' one.

I think they had a uni that had a graphic of a buck(deer) on the front. I liked that, the buck looked like it came from hell!

Haha, they have those jerseys on Live with the Buck on the front.
The jerseys they have now are by far the worst in the league, they need new colors and some new jerseys. As for them trading the pick, I'm not too sure on what they should or will do. If I had the pick I'd probably draft Bogut with it, because quality big men are hard to come by in the NBA.
Thu May 26, 2005 3:34 pm
i dont see any LBJ, MELO, WADE quality players. maybe marvin williams... but meh
Thu May 26, 2005 3:50 pm
the bucks do need new jerseys....but nothing like the bobcats jerseys
Thu May 26, 2005 4:37 pm
or the Hornets...what kind of a jersey is that?
Thu May 26, 2005 5:46 pm
yes, i'd luv for the mt oget new jerseys, so then i can buy a Redd jersey and wear it proud
I use the Bucks on Live aswell and an upgrade or change would be awesome.
About the trade............as a Laker fan............PLEASE!!!
especially if they add joe smith!
Bogut,Smith,Butler,Kobe,???
we would still have a major problem at pg, unless we can get a 2nd rnd steal?
heck, could always draft Paul
Mihm,Smith,Butler,Kobe,Paul.
nah Bogut looks better, great to see our best aussie player(well should be better than Longley) on my fave team
Thu May 26, 2005 5:50 pm
what happened to ford anyway? i heard some news about his recovery during the middle of the regular season and that's about it....is he still gonna play?
Thu May 26, 2005 6:44 pm
I don't like the Odom/pick for pick/Smith deal. Only way I'd do it if I were in charge is if the Lakers got to keep their own pick. There's no real clear cut superstar in this draft, anyone picked in the top 15 could turn out to be really good.
Thu May 26, 2005 7:11 pm
The Lakers should do it IMO... they are pretty desperate but they need to find a way to get a PG!
Andrew Bogut would be good but im still leaning to a Carlos Boozer instead of the big Aussie... only time will tell. I still think Yao signing with LA sounds great! IT wouldnt happen though...
Thu May 26, 2005 7:21 pm
Oh shutup about Yao on LA already.

Why do they need the #1 pick to get a PG? There's 4 awesome PG's in this draft in Jack, Felton, Williams and Paul. Not to mention Euro's like Roko Leni Ukic and others who could sneak under the radar. A lottery pick should get at least one of those guys.

as good a college swingman as he was, Dwayne Wade was not expected to be the star he is today....too undersized to play PG blah de blah....
Chris Paul is more highly touted than Wade was coming out of Marquette....

Marquette....
You mean it was said he was undersized for a
SG. Well, that's true, but he's still 6-5 in shoes and with a enormous wingspan. He's a borderline psychical specimen with his length, quickness, speed and explosivness. I don't see that package coming along Paul. As good as he is at at college level, he still has some major concerns. IMO, there's a huge chance that he'll slip to the 5th pick.

What about Julius Hodge in second round for the Lakers.
Guys like him are greatly undervalued and turn out to be quality players(see Duhon in Chicago).
I do believe he was even ACC player of the year a couple of seasons back( how do u undervalue that)
What a steal he would be for the team that gets him.

Isn't he 6'3"?

Wade measured 6 feet 33/4 inches in socks and 6-43/4 with shoes on, which is on the small side for an NBA shooting guard. His wingspan, though, was an incredible 6-103/4, only an inch less than 7-footer Chris Kaman and 4 inches better than Kansas' Kirk Hinrich, another projected lottery pick who is expected to be a swing guard in the NBA like Wade.
The 212-pound Wade bench-pressed 185 pounds nine times, one fewer than Hinrich, but bettered him in both the lane agility test (10.56 seconds to 10.98) and the three-quarter-court sprint (3.08 to 3.10). Wade also had a 35-inch vertical leap and a vertical reach of 8-6.
I guess not. Look at that nasty vertical reach! I'm 6'2 1/2 (6'5 wingspan), but with a vertical reach of only 8'0. He has to jump 6 inches less than me to dunk! Now we know where his athletic dunks come from. Let's face it, his vertical isn't that special...

If the Lakers can pull this off they will be in real good shape plus new additions, they will be in good shape next season.
